She watched him talking through the phone all tensed up. Their flight was going to take off any minute now. Looking at her wristwatch, she shook her head at the irony of their situation.

The man in question had gone off about how early he needed to get back home. He even emphasized the time. Though Sarah had something to do, she was forced to show up on time.

Watching the said man now delaying them was slowly getting to her. She should have done her chores before showing up. It would be better than dealing with the grumpy man.

Worse still, she felt horrible inside. Today was a special day for her. It was her mother's birthday. This was the first time she missed her ritual, she wanted to curl up and cry.

Today was also her cheat day. One day she could be vulnerable and act like a normal human. The day she was allowed to sit by her mother's tomb and speak her heart out.
