Allison's POV
"You look brilliant this morning. Still seasick?" Jessica bursts into my room without warning, her voice cutting through the quiet like a knife. I'm already awake, of course, replaying the events from last night—my tense exchange with the chef, and that unnerving conversation with Darius.
"How did you sleep?" she asks, her face beaming. It's odd—there's a spark in her today, something almost unsettling. She seems… happier? Lighter somehow, like she knows something I don't.
"Fine, thank you," I mumble, barely holding it together. My mind is spinning, trying to figure out how on earth I'll persuade Jessica to let me and Yasmin stay together. The memory of my last miserable attempt gnaws at me.
"Hmm. Good to hear!" she chirps, her cheerful tone grating against my nerves. "Anyway, Daddy's asked that you sleep in his chambers tonight."
