Chapter 8 - The server launch Tournaments

Do you know what your most robust strength is, dear reader? Perhaps you are aware of your distinct strength. However, our female heroine never understood her actual strength unless she was allowed to do so. Being around individuals who discourage you might make you feel inferior to yourself. I'm not sure why they do that. Why don't they appreciate nature's beauty? Why don't people just shut up when they have nothing worthwhile to say? On the counterpart, people sometimes say what they think. Perhaps they are stating what they are feeling rather than anything sugar-coated. Those might be straightforward people who have no grudges. Despite knowing the facts regarding both perspectives, I don't know which side to take. Yeol was a person who generally ignored her emotions and trusted her logic, but she was also someone who never said anything hurtful to anyone. In other words, she lied frequently. When she was among online pals, she shared her mind and emotions, perhaps still concealing but expressing a little.

"You realize you're late for lunch, Yeol? It is now time for evening munchies, "Yeol's father stated.

"I know, but the new game is incredible. I became engrossed in its allure, "Yeol stated as he chewed into her sandwich.

"I see a sure thing here. But don't miss meals the next time, okay? " said Yeol's father.

"Sure, Dad," she responded, agreeing.

She hopped back to her bed after finishing her meal and drink, wearing the VR headset, and resumed the game from where she had halted it. The first thing she noticed when she logged online was her friend list. There were so many friend requests awaiting her acceptance. She accepted all of them and discovered that some of them were available online. She looked to see whether Anonymous was online. He wasn't online but left a note in her inbox stating, "I'll be online at 20:00 in-game time." For some reason, this made Yeol's heart skip a beat. Perhaps Yeol was gradually discovering something new. Maybe, what we all term affection is an emotion.

Yeol had already spent her one EXP dungeon try, so she went ahead and utilized another one. She noticed the server launch tournament in progress. The event was designed to promote rapid leveling up. Yeol was still ranked lower than 50. She felt compelled to level up sooner because the prizes were extremely rare. The top ten awards were fantastic for strengthening the in-game character. She noticed Anonymous standing in the first place. Maybe that drove her desire to be at the top of the rankings. She went to NPC Xu to learn more about the server launch event.

"NPC Xu, I'm back with questions. Would you mind unlocking the door for me?" Yeol said sweetly.

Yeol waited for five minutes but received no response, so she entered NPC Xu's cave. She discovered NPC Fairy Lu standing next to his bed.

"Could you tell me where NPC Xu is?" Yeol inquired.

"NPC Xu has gone to the seven mountains in pursuit of a particular map. Therefore, I am in command in his absence. What exactly do you want to know? I will do my best to respond to your questions, "NPC Fairy Lu said.

"Ms. Lu, I was wondering if you could kindly clarify the Game Launch Events?" - Yeol.

"Yes, the game launch events separates into two sections for both pay-to-win and free-to-play players. Players on P2W can take advantage of top-up events and rebate events that provide immense benefits for every top-up. On player's first purchase, they will receive a Jade Pendant and an Amulet for free, "NPC Lu defined.

"Amulet and Jade Pendant? I'm not sure where we can acquire it from. I don't have them either, "Yeol abruptly interrupted.

"This is because it is not available to free gamers. These are the two unique gears that may be earned through Top-up or the Treasure hunt, which again needs you to spend 20ingots, "Ms. Lu responded.

"Ingots? Not even bound ingots? That's unfortunate. So there's no way for a free player to get those two items? What stats are provided by those gears? Do they have any superpowers?" Yeol was curious.

"Um...I'm not sure. Perhaps there are a few other ways to gain such items. 'Just sell,' is the only clue I have for you. And, yes, it does grant unique stats; you can sneak a glance at any top player to see if they have the amulet and pendant, "Fairy Lu recommended.

"Now, how about the free-to-play player event?" - Yeol.

"Free-to-play gamers are permitted to participate in several tournaments organized during the first week of server launch, known as 'The server launch rush events,' which are very competitive. Seven days, seven tournaments:

First Day - The level Rush: it's for promoting leveling up. Grants a G7 red-three-star armor and the level-5 gems pack for the first rank in a level rush. G7 orange-three-star armor in addition to the level-4 gems packs for second and third rank. Lastly, G7 orange two-star armor with the level-2 jewels pack for players in the top 20 on the scoreboard.

Second Day - The pet Rush: It's the event for raising the level of disciples. The stronger a disciple's battle power, the higher players rank on the scoreboard. The winner will earn a G7 red three-star boot and the exclusive title of 'Master Disciple.' Second and third place will receive a G7 orange three-star boot and the title 'Disciple Tamer.' The top twenty players will each get a G7 orange two-star boot with the disciple advance material.

Third-Day - Mount Rush: A fight to level your Mount. Mount's qualification rank is three - one star. The first reward is a pair of G7 red three-star gloves and the title for 'Mount King.' The second and third prices feature G7 orange three-star gloves labeled 'Ride it behind the king.' They have G7 orange two-star gloves with Mount improve material for the top twenty players.

Fourth Day - Gems Rush: A fight to level the gear gems. The qualification level is gem level 51. 1st price is the G7 red three-star skirt of your class with the Gems pack of level 7. The second and third prize is a G7 orange three-star skirt with a level 5 gems pack. The top 20 will get 2-level gems to pack along with a G7 orange two-star skirt.

Fifth Day - Combat Power Rush: The CP rush is designed for gamers that want to focus on their CP rather than their stats. The winner of this competition receives G7 red three-star headgear and a power pug outfit. Second and third place finishers would get G7 orange three-star headgear with the title 'flame killer.' Finally, the top 20 players will get G7 orange two-star headgear and the moniker 'The jewels of the server.'

Sixth Day - The TOP-UP Rush - As the name implies, it's not for free players. 1st prize G7 red three-star sword. The second and third ones are the G7 orange three-star sword. Lastly, the top 20 would receive the G7 orange two-star sword.

Seventh Day - The Guild Rush - This is something I would keep a secret since it would be an unforgettable experience."

Yeol was engrossed in her thoughts of the exciting adventures that awaited her if she leveled up sooner. She was puzzled by the red gear and orange equipment stuff, but she couldn't care less because she would find out about it sooner or later. She thanked Fairy Lu and returned to leveling up, electing to utilize her last effort for the EXP dungeon, which she obtained with an EXP scroll. The EXP scroll can allow players to acquire one extra dungeon attempt. Yeol received the scroll as a pre-registration gift.

She formed the party for EXP dungeon, and he joined in...
