Alex was obviously trying so hard to act cool, but it was still pretty obvious how stunned and smitten he was by Caily, given how softly his eyes lingered all over her.
For a few seconds, Caily veered her gaze away from his face to scrutinize the way he was seated—He was sitting down with his legs wide apart, leaning forward, and tapping his fingers on his knees like a defiant bad boy. He did kind of look cool, with some sort of edgy vibe around him.
"Mrs. Brooks," Alex called, trying to meet her eyes,
"Please, go ahead with what you came here for. I have a huge workload to tend to this morning," He urged, "I'm a really busy person as you can see, so I barely have the time for chit-chats like this!" He added with a full-on pride and boundless ego.
