Prologue

Just earlier, his hands were on my waist as my body was pressed against him while we slowly swayed our body on the music he played for us.

Just earlier, his eyes were looking at me with full of emotions that I can't even explain with other words than the word 'loving'.

Just earlier, just earlier, he was in front of and he was still in my arms as my hands were snaked on his nape.

Just earlier.

Right now, he's a few meters away from me. His eyes were no longer living but full of pain.

Just when I badly wanted him in my arms, he was no longer in front of me.

Suddenly, I couldn't reach him. Suddenly, I can't take a step towards him and suddenly, I couldn't even tell him how I feel as my throat was too dry to do so.

"Alice,"

Just earlier, he called my name with his soft manly voice and now...

"Alice, I'm tired trying to meet you halfway," he said.

I couldn't even utter a word as I'm too scared that I may say a word that will just push him more.

"I'm tired. You won't even meet me halfway,"

My eyes were just darted at him. I didn't know what to do. I was petrified.

"Alice please stop me from leaving," he smiled bitterly when I didn't say anything. "Or I won't see you anymore."

I wanted to say no, don't leave me, and don't go but I can't seem to open my mouth. As if it was glued to each other.

He sighed when he noticed I wasn't doing anything.

I thought for a moment, he'll come to me and stay with me.

He walked toward my direction and stopped right in front of me.

He slowly lifted my chin and brushed his lips against mine. I closed my eyes to feel him against me. It was too soft, as if he didn't want me to break as I'm too delicate for him.

"Don't open your eyes," he whispered after he pulled away. I didn't open my eyes but I could still feel him in front of me. "I don't want you to see me, leaving you."

He slowly removed his hand on my chin. Slowly, I could no longer feel his presence.

When I opened my eyes, he's no longer in front of me; nowhere to be seen.
