Janus-faced

"No!" Carey let out a yell. He watched Nathan take a piece of paper and a pen out of the large trench coat he was wearing.

" It's time to untie his hands." Nathan gave one of the men instructions telling him to write down what was said.

"Write it!" Nathan issued the command, and when Carey disobeyed, Nathan proceeded to beat him on his mouth, which was already swollen and bleeding.

Carey, who was defenseless and too tired from being beaten by the men, eventually gave in and wrote down what Nathan had commanded.

"Good!" Nathan said letting out a jibulant cry of excitement after Carey scribbled down a suicide note.

"Tie him up again and give him the dose," Nathan commanded and watched with satisfaction as Carey struggled to free himself.

"Have this," Nathan told the men as he handed them cigarettes. "Leave him here for a while as the drug takes effect on him but keep your eyes on him. Tell me when it's all finished."
