Eliana's eyes fluttered open, and she felt as if someone was beating a drum on her head. She felt someone touching her and look at her side only to see Zach sleeping while holding her hand.
Eliana stretched forth her hand to touch him but suddenly stopped. She brought her hand down and quickly closed her eyes when she saw he was about to wake up.
"I know you are awake," Zachary said. He could barely sleep throughout the night so the moment Eliana groaned in pain, he was already awake and alert.
Despite hearing his voice, Eliana still closed her eyes and refused to open it or say a thing.
"You do not wish to talk to me, nor do you wish to see me. Is it because you blame me for what happened to little treasure?" Zachary asked softly, but still, there was no response. "I'm sorry for failing to protect you and our baby. I'm sorry Eli."
