New Boss

After a week of helping Jeanohntae progress in her knowledge of the company, she was finally ready to start work. Christian and Jeanohntae rode in separate vehicles, as to not attract too much attention like the last time she was there.

Christian was the first one to arrive. Jeanohntae came an hour later and stopped by the front desk where the rude receptionist was at. "Hello, I'm here for a meeting with the boss." Jeanohntae said politely.

The rude receptionist rolled her eyes. "Again!" Kylee wanted to say something but Jeanohntae stopped her.

"Whatever, just wait for someone to come and get you. Just don't think you will get a job here. It's not for someone like…." Before Ausla could finish, a loud voice yelled in their direction. "AUSLA! Watch your mouth the way you talk to her." Ruth's voice could be hear.

Jeanohntae and Kylee turned around and saw Ruth walking over with a sour expression on her face. "I would not make her angry if I were you." Ruth said with a grin.

The receptionist rolled her eyes again. "And why is that Ms. Ruth!??" She asked. Ruth smiled and stood next to Jeanohntae. "Ausla, this is Jeanohntae. She is the new manager of the HR Department. She is now your new boss."

Ausla could not believe her ears. "How is that possible!??" Ausla said with dissatisfaction. Ruth ignore Ausla and looked at Jeanohntae. "Jean, please follow me. Mr. Maddox is expecting you."

Jeanohntae smiled and followed Ruth with Kylee following behind. Ruth only took three steps, when she stopped to turn and look at Ausla. "It would be a shame if she fires you on her first day on the job. However, I wouldn't blame her, seeing how you have just insulted her earlier." Ruth gave a small smirk as she finished talking.

Ausla glared at the three ladies that just entered the elevator. Kylee started to laugh. "I apologize for my rudeness Ms. Jean. I just can't help myself." Jeanohntae joined in on the laughter while Ruth just stared at them with curiosity.

Kylee noticed Ruth was just staring at her. "Ooh, I apologize ma'am. My name is Kylee. I am Ms. Jean's personal bodyguard." Ruth nodded and smiled. "We'll it's nice to meet you Kylee. My name is Ruth. Don't mind Ausla, she has been like that since she started working here. She has no respect for anyone but Christian. I was her temporary boss but she never respected me."

"So why don't you fire her!??" Kylee asked. Ruth started to laugh. "I asked myself that a long time ago. Honestly, she may have a bad attitude, but she is an excellent worker. She gets her job done tremendously fast and perfectly. That is why I never had the heart to fire a prominent person like her. Even though her attitude is nasty."

They went into Christian's office and he stopped what he was doing to smile at Jeanohntae. Ruth gave them some privacy and Kylee stood outside the door with Lennie.

Jeanohntae walked closer to sit down in front of him. Christian did not look away from her not even for a second. "You know it's rude to stare Mr. Maddox." Jeanohntae said with a smirk.

Christian chuckled and replied. "We'll, it's hard not to stare when the person I'm staring at is you Ms. Babauta." They both started laughing and Christian stood up. "Let's go, I'll show you to your office."

As they walked out of his office, Kylee and Lennie followed close behind. Jeanohntae was only four offices down from his. As he entered the HR Department. Everyone stopped their work and greeted Christian. "Good morning Sir."

Christian nodded and everyone stood in their spots. "Good morning everyone. This is Jeanohntae. She will be your new boss, so treat her with the upmost respect. If you have any concerns regarding your works. Please report to her."

Christian finished and everyone bowed. "It's nice to meet you boss Jeanohntae." Everyone said in unison. Jeanohntae smiled but rejected her title. "Please everyone, you can just call me Ms. Jean. I'm not too fond of being called boss."

Everyone smiled, they were already started to like her. They liked a boss that does not put themselves before others. "It's nice to meet you Ms. Jean." They all said.mChristian showed Jeanohntae where her personal office is at. As they walked in, Christian closed the door behind them.

"This is your office. It has everything you will need. The files on right side of the desk is all the applicants that applied as your assistant. You'll need to pick two. You'll be surprised to see who is in that pile. The left side is all the files about each of the employee's' progress throughout the building. You'll receive them at the end of each month. It'll be your decision to hire and fire whoever you see fit. If you have any concerns regarding who to hire or fire, come and see me. The other files in the center, those are applications for other departments. It's your choice who to hire from here on out."

Jeanohntae smiled sweetly. "I'll get right on those as soon as I settle in." Christian smiled and gave a small kiss on her cheek. "Have fun on your first day. Good luck. Boss!" Christian said said jokingly.

"Thank you! Boss!" Jeanohntae responded. They both started to laugh and Christian Left the office and went back to his. Kylee stood outside Jeanohntae's office door while Lennie followed Christian.

"Kylee, please come here." Jeanohntae called out. Kylee immediately walked in. "Yes Ms. Jean. How may I help you."

Jeanohntae smiled and gestured for her to sit down. Kyle could not refuse her boss. Kylee sat down and Jeanohntae started flipping through the applications for her assistant. "Kylee, tell me. If I was to get an assistant, what should they be able to do!??"

Kylee did not know what to say. "Uhh.. I believe they should be able to understand what you are thinking even before you are thinking it. They need to be able to move quickly on their feet. They should have knowledge about simple tasks you need everyday." Kylee could not think of anything else. She only said what she needed to become a bodyguard. To her, a bodyguard is the same as a personal assistant.

Jeanohntae smiled at the application before her. "You are absolutely right. However, I don't really need an assistant, but knowing Christian. If I don't pick one, he will pick for me." Jeanohntae sighed.

Kylee started to chuckle lightly. "I just think Mr. Christian is worried you will overwork yourself. He just cares for you is all." Kylee explained. Jeanohntae sighed. "I know he does, but he acts like I'm made of paper or porcelain. I'm not fragile."

Kylee did not say anything. She did not know how to respond to that. "It's alright. I found two good people I think will make great assistants. Thank you Kylee." Jeanohntae said.

Kylee stood up and went back outside to the door. She was a little nervous, she thought Jeanohntae was mad.

Inside Christian's office, he picked up his cellphone and called Jeanohntae. When her phone started ringing. She saw the caller ID and smiled. 'Hubby!' She never changed the name back and she was kind of didn't want to. "Hello!??" She answered.

Christian on the other end smiled. "So, did you see the files!??" Jeanohntae replied. "Yes I did. Why didn't you tell me Adrian applied!??" Christian started to laugh. "I thought it would make for a great first day surprise."

Jeanohntae and Christian talked a little longer. They agreed to go home during lunch to eat some of Devin's new foods.
