Kicked Out

When they arrived home, it was already almost dark. Rudy and Joseph were already home about to eat.

Jeanohntae walked in with a big smile. "Sweetie, where's Christian and the butler!??" Rudy asked looking at Jeanohntae standing at the door alone.

Before Jeanohntae said anything, a voice came from behind. "We're right here Uncle Rudy." Christian was carrying in a few shopping bags with Butler Lu doing the same. "Yes, we are helping Ms. Jean carry in her items."

Joseph looked at Christian with astonishment. He has never seen Christian carry any shopping bags, much less help out. He would usually make the maids do it. Joseph was impressed.

Leah came out with Joseph and Rudy's dinner when she saw Jeanohntae. She just had to smile at Jeanohntae. "Ms. Jean, welcome back. Dinner is ready. I'll bring yours to your room in a little bit."

Jeanohntae smiled back. "Thank you Leah, but I don't have an appetite right now." Jeanohntae was still kind of sour and sore from her encounter with Anna. She just wanted to take a nice long bath and relax. She then remembered the gifts. "Umm, Can all of you stay down here for a bit till I come back from upstairs please!??"

Everyone looked confused including Butler Lu. He did not know why he had to wait too. He's been with Jeanohntae the whole day and he did not notice anything. He thought he must be overthinking things. They all nodded in agreement.

"Okay, I'll be going to the room to sort out what I brought." Jeanohntae happily skipped up the stairs with Christian and Butler Lu following behind. Christian looked at the happy woman and smiled shaking his head. 'She really is easy to satisfy.'

When the bags were in the room, she quickly chased out Christian and Butler Lu in a polite manner. Christian and Butler Lu were confused as to why they were being chased out. Butler Lu did as told and walked down stairs with Christian.

When Joseph and Rudy saw Christian sulking, they were curious to know what happened. Joseph was the first to speak. "Son, what happened!?? You look upset."

Christian did not want to answer and looked at his father with a deep cold stare. Seeing this, Butler Lu chimed in. "Sir, young madam chased us out of the room. I believe that is why young sir is a little upset."

Joseph and Rudy were silent. They wanted to know why Jeanohntae chased them. "It's my room and she really kicked me out. I can't believe it." Christian grumbled.

Rudy started chuckling. "It's okay Chris, she probably does not want you to see what she's doing. Come to think of it, she's a very open child and doesn't chase anyone out. The only time she does that is when she has a surprise."

Thinking back, Rudy started laughing. "Come to think of it. When Jeanohntae was 16 years old, she kicked me out of the house once and told me to do whatever I want for 2 hours. When I finally came home, she surprised me by making a big dinner for me and bought me a pocket knife. She then told me it was a surprise and did not want me to ruin it if I was home."

Christian slowly relaxed and smiled. "I guess so. I guess that is something that I missed when we were separated. This is the one side I did not get to see growing up." Christian frowned. It later turned into curiosity. He wanted to see if Jeanohntae really did have a surprise.

Upstairs, Jeanohntae was sorting out all the gifts she bought. A Jade necklace for Ruth. A rose bracelet for Leah. A pocket watch for Butler Lu. A brown leather watch for her father Rudy. A whiskey flask for her uncle Joseph, and gold cuff links for Christian. She neatly organized them and set them on the table.

She was finally done with the gifts and went to take a bath. After a long hour of bathing, she felt more relaxed and got into more relaxing clothes. Just as she finished, there was a knock at the door.

"Who is it!??" Jeanohntae called out. On the other end was Christian. "It's me, can I come in now."

Jeanohntae ran to the door and locked it. "No way! I'm busy." Christian was feeling a little upset. He wanted to know what she was doing. "Sweetheart please, can I come in!??" Christian pleaded.

"No. You cannot come in. Go down stairs and wait for me." Jeanohntae's voice was sweet but stern. Christian was growing impatient. He had to know. "It's my room too. You cannot kick me out of my own room."

Jeanohntae did not want Christian to see his gift yet. She wanted to surprise him tomorrow at work, but she had no choice but to give him his gift downstairs with the rest of them. She did not want to risk him finding it when she slept. "No means no Christian. Now go down stairs and wait patiently."

Christian pouted while staring at the door. He finally gave up and stomped downstairs like a little child. He sulked on the couch waiting.

After after 30 minutes of what felt like forever. Jeanohntae descended down the stairs holding 5 bags in her her hand.

All 5 pairs of eyes were on her. They really wanted to know what was in the bags. They were inching further off their seats with eyes of excitement.

Jeanohntae smiled. "What're you all staring at!??"

Butler Lu stood up. "Umm, Ms. Jean, we are wondering why you have gathered all of us."

Jeanohntae's smile grew big as she yelled. "SURPRISE!"
