A Sigh Of Relief

"She's..." the doctor hesitated. "She's in stable condition but she is in a coma right now. It should take her about 3 weeks to wake up. She can't lay on her back because of her wound. It would most likely take months to heal from a wound like that."

They all smiled and thanked the doctor. "Can we see her!??" Her smiling father asked as the doctor agreed.

They went into her room and looked at the bed where the little beauty was sleeping. Rudy couldn't contain himself and started crying when he saw his only daughter in that condition.

Joseph was also overjoyed when he saw she was no longer in any harm. However, both Rudy and Joseph saw Christian who was hesitant to go near her because he felt guilty for not picking up his dad's phone call the first time. Christian's eyes darkened like he was beating himself up from the inside.

They both walked up to her and kissed her forehead before heading outside to give Christian some time alone.

When Christian heard the door close, his expression softened as tears started streaming down his face. He walked closer to Jeanohntae and place his hand on hers.

"Hey beautiful. I'm glad you're okay now. I'm sorry I couldn't be there with you. You mean the world to me. I'm so sorry. When you finally needed me most in your dire situation, I wasn't there. Please forgive me." Christian said while crying hard.

'I hear something. Like someone is talking to me. I can't see anything. I can barely make out the words. I can't speak. What's going on!??' Jeanohntae can only wonder to herself. She was in a coma, but she could still hear.

Three weeks go by and she still hasn't woken up. Christian and Rudy has never left the hospital in fear that she would wake up to no one by her side. Christian still never went to work so his father was taking over for now.

Everyday, Christian would talk to Jeanohntae to keep her company. He wouldn't even dare to get up to use the bathroom. The only time he left use it was when Rudy was also in the room.

"Please wake up baby girl. Your daddy misses you so much. You are my world. Please wake up." Rudy said to the sleeping Jeanohntae who hasn't even moved a single muscle.

'Dad I'm here. Am I sleeping!?? I miss you too. Dad, can you here me!?? Jeanohntae could only talk through her thoughts.

Christian was still not feeling like himself until he was able to see Jeanohntae's beautiful face awaken.

Another week goes by and Christian still never left, and neither has Rudy. Joseph comes by a few times to check on her and bring Christian and Rudy new sets of clothes.

"I miss you Jeanohntae. I've been away for years but never once did I forget you. Please wake up. I really miss you." Christian said with teary eyes.

He tries to keep his composure but all of a sudden he saw Jeanohntae's eyes moving in her sleep. He started smiling because that was the most she moved in weeks. He put his hands on hers and her fingers started moving.

He was so surprised he called out for Rudy. "Uncle Rudy she's moving." He yelled. Rudy came rushing out of the restroom to see his beautiful daughter moving her fingers and slowly opening her eyes. She started choking and gagging because the tube that was in her mouth.

Rudy rushed to call the doctor to remove the tube. When the tube was finally removed, Christian went to get her water and make her drink.

"How long was I asleep" she asked confused seeing her father smile with tears of joy.

"Four weeks my dear. But everything is better now. You're finally awake!" Rudy said bringing her into a hug.

In the office Joseph's phone rang.

"Hello. Christian are you okay!??" Joseph sounded concerned

With a sigh of relief Christian spoke with a smile. "She's awake dad. She's finally awake!"

"That's great news!" Joseph's heart was smiling and he started laughing a little. "I'm glad she's better. I'll come by and visit when I'm finished here. I'll bring fresh clothes for all of you on my way."

After Christian hung up, Joseph did not spend a second more in the office. He went out and got clothes for the three of them and flowers for Jeanohntae. He even went out of his way to buy chocolate and so many fruit baskets for her. Indeed she was important to them all.

A few minutes later, Joseph arrived with so much stuffs which left Jeanohntae speechless but smiling. "Uncle Joseph that wasn't necessary." She said in awe.

"None sense child. You are my family. I'll do anything for you. More than I would do for my own son in fact." Joseph said. He and Jeanohntae started laughing while Christian looked like he was gonna throw a fit.

After coming to her senses, Jeanohntae remembered the letter.

"I want to ask all of you a question." She said looking serious stopping everyone from smiling.

"What is it dear!??" Rudy said.

Jeanohntae sighed and asked. "What happened with my mother!??"

Her question left them all speechless and shocked.
