3 Chapter 3

The journey to Feng Jiu's manor was not too long, it should be around 30 minutes from the city gates. She sighed inwardly experiencing the transportation here. So slow! If she has her motorbike, this journey will be shortened to 10 minutes max.

In the beginning, she was sitting together with others inside the carriage but she really cannot remain still ah! She is too curious with everything, by the end, she jumped out to the front and sit with Mr. Bao. He was a bit startled at first but it didn't take long before he regained his composure. He even starts introducing places they have passed through. Heng secretly memorize what he said as she is planning to explore the capital.

As soon as they arrive, they were brought to the main hall where a man figure wearing dark blue clothes can be seen walking back and forth continuously.

"Husband, aren't you tired moving like that?" Teased Feng Jiu. She knows he will be worried when she sent the city guard to the manor but seeing his wrinkled eyebrows and anxious face, she cannot help but to tease her husband to ease him.

The man looks relieved seeing both wife and kid safely arrive back home. No one knows how deathly anxious he was when he receive the notification. He quickly hug his only daughter and check her from top to bottom before turning his worried gaze to his wife.

"I am fine. Let's take a sit first so I can introduce you to our savior." Feng Jiu lead Heng to sit and instruct the servant to prepare tea. She starts by introducing each other before fully narrated what just happened to her.

Li Wei was really furious when he heard how his wife got ambushed, the enemy is too daring this time! He swear he will find out the culprit!

He slowly calm himself down by gulping his lukewarm tea before saying his thanks to Heng. She, who do not think much about her action before embarrassingly shake her head, "I do not think I deserve this much thanks in one day. Aunty already said thank you hundred times on the way to here, more than that it will just make me feel ashamed."

They merrily chats while waiting for dinner. Heng was planning to say farewell after sipping the digestive tea. However, she was one step too late...

"Heng, are you really planning to go back to the mountain?" Asked Feng Jiu.

"Not really, living there for a month is more than enough. I am planning to learn how the society works here and see what I can do in the future." She got headache thinking about this. His grandpa is a real genius and famous internationally but most of his recent what-so-called inventions always end up as a failure, that is why she did not thought much when he asked her to help him experimenting. Based on the last few experiments the worse case happened was the explosion destroying half of the house. Sighed, who knows how long will it take before his grandpa can pull her back to her world. She can only resigned and try to survive as long as she can now.

Her family consists of three people only; her grandpa, her and her younger brother. Her family profession can be divided into either a physics fanatic like her grandpa or part of special military force like her and her parents.

Her parents passed away few years ago while operating on secret mission. No one knows how they died, she only received notification from the authority telling her about the sad news making the last three alive in despair despite the fact they are actually aware that this is the risk when one choose this path.

Her younger brother similarly like her grandpa, both have their own labs at home and they don't really interact unless it is a real emergency. Legit eccentric! But she is sure Ms. Li, their house maid will take care both of them even if she is not at home so she is not going worried about their well-being.

Seeing Heng lost in her own thought, Feng Jiu forced a short cough to snap her out from her daze. When she did, she sheepishly smile to both of them.

Li Wei who has been receiving hints from both his wife and daughter finally giving her a suggestion, "How about this, you can stay with us until you decide what you want to do. Even though you have a high martial art, you are still a girl and should not wander around by yourself. Feng Jiu can bring you around the city tomorrow with Jiu Mei to get you familiar with the area."

After pondering for a bit, she also thinks this is not a bad idea. First of all, she does not have any money. Secondly she does not have a place to live and returning back to the mountain now will just exhaust her. Thirdly, she cannot solve this overnight either. So agree and thank them in advance for the hospitality.

Fast forward, here I am now unwillingly forced to leave the soft mat and a good quality blanket keeping her warm. She really does not want to leave the bed!

Grabbing the clothes, I heard the door being opened and see Xiao Mi in her blue dress bringing a wash basin full with flowers , "Heng, this is for you to wash your face."

After getting close to Heng, she has been insisting to both her and Xiao Mu calling her name only. They refused it in the beginning but Heng said she will not answer anyone calling her with honorifics so both finally agree with it but only when no one is around.

"Thank you, you can just drop it there and tell aunty and Jiu Mei that I will be there soon." She quickly took out her tooth brush and tooth paste from her bag and start busying herself. When she is ready to change, she got depressed seeing what they called clothes in this era. She secretly cry that she completely forgets about how complicated to wear it ah!?

Xiao Mi who already got informed by Fu Ren prior her arrival is still in the room secretly holding her laugh seeing her helpless state. "I will help you."

Feng Jiu secretly memorize the steps when Xiao Mi helps her wearing the clothes. Once it is done, she got shocked for the second time, "This... Man wear this?" Even without looking at the mirror, she can feel this is a dress ah! She didn't notice it as she was too focused memorizing!

Xiao Mi smirked, "Fu Ren said as part of learning about the society. You should live as how every lady behave in here. Come, sit here, I will help you with the hair." Heng hearing this does not know if she should laugh or cry and by the end can only obediently sit on the chair waiting until it is done.

Heng's hair is not as long as other females in this era, her hair only reach her back. She manages to keep her hair long once she become a trainer in the military force after her parents passed away. Of course, the gratitude went to her grandpa who keeps nagging her boss otherwise he will not let her work with military anymore.

Her hair were wrapped in a loose bun with some untied her in the back. Heng refused to have more than one accessories in the hair. It is heavy ah! Once done, Xiao Mi satisfyingly nod seeing her creation.

"Alright, let's not let them wait any longer. Let's go!"
