Chapter 69 : Now We're Talking!

"What are you waiting for? Show me what you got and get this over with." Remarked Helena impatiently.

Robert threw a quick glance at me, smirking softly. I didn't know what was that for, but it kinda pissed me off, to be honest. I mean, his business was with Helena, but the prick kept trying to ruffle my feather.

"As you wish, my Princess. O' mighty spirit of Earth. The eternal guardian of the haven, give unto me your unrest protection. Earth Paragon!" A sigil shone brightly before him, and the minute his incantation was finished, Robert slammed the staff in his hand dull into the ground, directing all the flourishing mana from the sigil down into the ground.

A four-meter golem sprung up from the ground, swallowing Robert whole. It was a six-arms juggernaut that looked awfully badass from every angle possible. With each sway of its power-brimmed arms, the wind would whistle, and the ground would quiver from each step the golem took.

'...That looks sick as hell...' I had to give it to him...

"Woah!"

"Incredible!!"

"So that's Count Albertos's prized son. No wonder his name is so well known."

Apparently, I was far from being the only one who shared the sentiment. Many of the onlookers had also praised the man.

The Golem then moved around, exhibiting sets of movement that were far from dull. Robert seemed to answer the questions of some who wondered whether his golem was just a flashy sandbag or something more.

Clearly, he was a man with a plan.

When he was done with his bit, the golem knelt down on the ground, and the layers of soil retracted themselves, opening a huge hole in the front, and came out from it was Robert himself.

The sight was nothing short but grandiose.

'Dang it, even the way he walked out looked like Ironman...' I mused bitterly.

"Awesome!"

"Show us more, Sir Albertos!!"

Cheers and cries of encouragement blasted all over the place. But Robert was not even done. Flicking his staff, the Golem stood and took a couple of steps back as if it had a life of its own.

"My Princess. How was it?" He fixed his glasses and beamed toward Helena.

"Kyaa!! Sir Albertos! Look at me!!" Evidently, this Robert guy also had his own share of being famous. He did stand on the handsome side. Moreover, the dude knew how to perform and get the crowd going.

I think it would be weirder if a guy like that didn't leave these kinds of reactions from the ladies instead.

"I told you not to call me that." Growled Helena.

And again, the bastard played it off as though he didn't catch what she was saying due to the raucous crowd.

"Bragging about conjuration to her? What a joke..."

Expressed Howard softly from the side. It was too low for Damian, or anyone else for that matter, to catch, but that was not the case for me.

'Ah! Helena did say that summoning magic bored her...Is she not good with them?' Connecting the dots, I returned to the two people on the main stage. 'Still, this Robert dude is a man with a plan, indeed...He asked for guidance but purposely went after a specific type of magic instead of the usual elemental spellcraft. He's good...'

After years of studies and development, Magic has been separated into many branches and types.

Classified as the first in the list, elemental spellcraft was the most common and widespread variety that brought out an element from the sigils of their magic. Since every known spell always adopted a form of element within its structure, they weren't wrong when they said elemental spellcraft was the main root of magic.

"It is a bit embarrassing coming out from my lips, but my Master, John Polka of the Royal Palace, said that Conjuring is a very intrinsic and complex branch of Magic. Hence, it piqued my interest. Fortunately, I am not so talentless in regard to that. He also shared his fair share of experiences about your time under his tutelage. So, I wonder-"

The started running his mouth, lowkey bragging about his ass, but Helena wasn't having it. She cut him off short, not about to listen to his crap. "Ah, you're one with those annoying geezers, huh?"

"I am Master's John pupil, my Princess. On his recommendation, I was able to secure a spot in the Rockfelle Academy, promising a spot when I finally came of age in two years. I believe the two of us will have the chance to be reunited later when you enter Rockfelle yourself. At that point, you can count on me to be your most loyal companion, my Prin-"

"Enough bullshit. You're finished, right? Now I'm gonna give my piece. So, clean your ears well, you slick bastard." And she cut him again. Way to go, Helena.

There were cracks in Robert's wide smile, but he managed to keep it to himself.

Oblivious to that, Helena threw her bored look toward the Golem, kneeling behind the dude.

"You summoned a Golem, yet you wear it like armor. Can you use a Geast? Are you a Knight, you bastard? Do you plan to equip it with a huge-ass sword while you're at it? Can you even cast a spell while hiding inside there? If it's a Golem, then use it like a Golem, you stupid idiot. And what's with the size? Is there any reason why it's so uselessly hunky? I really hope there is..."

The edge of Robert's mouth twitched numb. I could even see the veins popping on his neck and temple. Then again, my man was still able to keep the corner of his lips arched upward despite everything.

"I am a magician...And this Golem will serve as both defensive and offensive ends in accordance with my needs. As for its size, it's merely to showcase the capability of my mana pool and purity." Argued Robert back, almost with a raspy breath.

"Defensive and offensive, what?" Helena rolled her eyes and shook her head, stupefied. "You know what, I don't even want to ask...So? Is that all? We're done?"

Finally, his last string of patience snapped, and the shadow of a smile disappeared completely from Robert's face.

"For someone with so much prestige as the fifth Princess, I do believe you can teach me and everyone else in here what a magician of your talent can do in a contest between us?"

And as if waiting for it, Helena replied in a heartbeat. Her eyes glimmered in wild excitement. "Now we're talking! Took you long enough, you bastard!"

Her vibrant and spirited eyes, coupled with the enchanting allure of her smile, painted a mesmerizing look on Helena.

"Alex." Called a familiar voice, slowly approaching us.

"Brother Howard!"

It was my Sister, Adam, and Sarah.

Howard turned sideways in reflex and took the sprinting boy, flinging him playfully into the air.

"You're here, Sister." I sounded.

"That girl...Her dress's all dirty...Mom will be so angry if she sees this." Voiced my Sister while shaking her head in defeat.

'Mother already knows about this, though...There, I can see her watching from the window...'

Thus, the climax to Helena's eventful meeting with yet another one of her fanboys, Robert Albertos, was about to begin in earnest.
