Katherine rushed outside, her body wracked with pain that threatened to break her down. Hailing a passing taxi, she hurriedly hopped into the back seat, instructing the driver to start the car immediately.

Tears finally welled up in her eyes as her back slowly began to restructure to its normal state. She had let her emotions sway a little longer than usual, and it had cost her this unbearable pain. Her heart ached, its pulse quickening as the confused driver navigated through the streets.

"Are you okay, miss? Should I take you to the hospital first?" he asked, concern etched on his face as he looked at her through the rear-view mirror. Her complexion was paler than a ghost, her eyes stinging with hot tears, and her breathing irregular.
