Beginning 02

I was hungry too so I listened to what he said.

It was probably ordered online by the way it tastes. We both finished dinner. After finishing dinner, I asked him,

"So, we talk now".

He replied, "Well, let's clean up first and then go to my workshop, it's in the basement".

We cleaned up and walked in front of his workshop.

He said, " be careful and do not touch anything until I saw so. It may not be much compared to most proper magi but it's still pretty dangerous".

"Okay".

We went into his workshop. He then pulled to chairs for us to sit. After both of us sat, he said,

"Let's start from the beginning, the world is not what it seems. This world has people who are capable of doing things that would normally be thought impossible through spell craft or mystic arts, it's known as many things. I and you are part of this group of gifted individuals. Though I am considered a heretic by most in this group. We call ourselves mages or magi. The person that attacked you was also a mage."

"What about that occultist and the blue fire?"

"The blue fire was due to the possession attempt from a daemon".

"So, the occultist wasn't actually crazy and I was actually possessed by a demon?"

"No, he was crazy, the summoning of the daemon had nothing to do with his ritual. The magic circle was drawn on top of a mana line, so the magic circle managed to get enough mana to barely attract a daemon. And no, you weren't possessed by a demon, it was a daemon."

"Huh, what are daemons and what are mana lines?"

"There are mainly two kinds of spiritual energy

magi deal with, all spiritual energy is capable of being used as fuel but their quality varies. It comes from Akasha. Some are of great quality but not accessible through easy means. The two main kinds of spiritual energy with great and similar quality are known as prana and mana. Prana is the energy that comes from your soul and mana is the energy that comes from the planet, the mana comes out from geographical road-like structures that we call mana lines."

He caught a breath and then said, " Demons are beings with similar will and intelligence to humans but daemons are beings either born from the concentration of spiritual energy or collective human emotions. They can barely be thought of as beings with intelligence or their own will. There are beings with even lower levels of intelligence and will than daemons, they're known as spirits. Spirits are mostly extensions of the planet."

"I see, so the demons are like the malicious beings in the Abrahamic religion, and daemons and spirits are like animals in another plane of existence?"

"Yes".

"what about the guy attacking me and when can I go back home?"

"I don't know but they are an organization. Going back now would be basically courting the death of both you and your family, especially

when you can't defend yourself."

"I am guessing you can't deal with them. That's why instead of doing your spell craft thing to make me forget about the whole thing and decided to come clean".

"Yes".

"So, what will you do? Will you learn about this new world and how to defend yourself from it or will you just live like a normal human being by changing your identity and living here?"

"I choose the former"

"Come on, the second option isn't bad either, you should think about it".

"You seriously believe I will choose the latter? If you think we live in a world where kids are accepting of their reality then Harry Potter wouldn't have sold more than five copies."

"Hah, today is getting late, I will unlock your circuits and answer your other questions tomorrow."
