Morning came like a bull in a china shop, Matthew slammed the door open which scared me enough to make me fall out of bed awake.
"Come on my raven it's time to eat then it's right to the training field." Matthew said with a grin on his face. He went to one of the closets and opened it, looking at all the clothes. I rubbed my shoulder since I hit it when I fell to the floor. Getting up from the ground Matthew tossed an outfit for me onto the bed. It was a silk pinkish gown that had bluish and greenish gems along the waist.
"I can dress myself you know." I said not much of a fan of pink.
"Alright I tried to help but go ahead you're a big girl." He mocked a little upset he won't see you in the cute gown. He walked to the door.
"When you're done, come to the dining room, it's on the first floor all the way to the right side of the building." Matthew said then left the room, closing the door behind him. I let out a sigh and brought the gown back to the closet then went on my own search for what I want to wear. After a minute of searching I came across this black and red short cut corset dress. It came just below the knees and it was a silky black fabric with red sheared along the end middle and top.
The corset was a red leather with black laces and patterns along the sides, back and front. It looked bad ass so I decided to wear it. The corset was already made to fit my wings, once I was done getting dressed I brushed my teeth and hair. I checked myself in the mirror one last time then went to the dining room like Matthew said. While walking down the halls of this castle I admired all the pictures and art work. When arriving there was a big dining table and Matthew sat at the head. The door opened more making a loud creaking noise. Matthew looked over at me and his eyes widened a bit, as he let out a whistle.
"Damn don't you look good," he smirked, leaning on his arm that rested on the table. I blushed and took my seat on his right side.
"Thank you Matthew." I stated.
"I know you never had our food down here so I had my chef cook you a human meal." He said to me as he leaned back against the chair. We waited for a few minutes then both our food came out. Mine was fresh pancakes and this was like alien shellfish or something, but both smelled really good. I licked my lips in hunger getting ready to dig into my food. I quickly grabbed my utensils and began to eat once it was placed in front of me. Matthew smiled at me and did his signature chuckled before he began to eat.
"So today you will be training with one of my generals Agaliarept. He is the head general of my army and one of my men in the round table." Matthew said after swallowing what he had in his mouth.
"Agalia-what?" I asked
"Agaliarept he's the general of hell. He's a pretty nice guy when you meet him just don't make him mad if I were you." He warned. I nodded and went back to eating. The doors to the dining room opened and there stood a tall man who was very muscular with a buzz cut. Like a typical soldier in an army uniform. I would speak of the devil but Agaliarept is not the devil, the devil is sitting next to me.
"Ah Agaliarept welcome you hungry we just started the human meal breakfast." Matthew said standing up and giving him one of those bro hugs that is also a handshake.
"No thank you my lord I had eaten before coming to your estate." Agaliarept spoke in a raspy voice, a true commanding voice. I swallowed my food feeling intimidated by the new demon in the room.
"So this must be your right hand man in charge." Agaliarept said walking over to me. I stood up and stuck out my hand to shake his.
"Hello I'm Alex Kako it's nice to meet you sir Agaliarept." I said shaking his hand.
"My my aren't you a small little thing," he chuckled walking around me, taking in my image.
"This should truly be interesting training you, so my lord what should we start with her first?" He continued now walking back to Matthew.
"Well what would you have her start general?" He asked while sipping what I think is tea.
"I would have her start with hand to hand combat and flying, but we don't want to overwhelm the poor girl." Agaliarept said, looking back at me as I take my seat back at the table.
"We'll start with flying for today." Matthew said sitting back down next to me.
"I will go set up the arena my lord," Agaliarept said bowing then leaving at once to this arena he mentioned.
"My raven I have a meeting with the generals of the east eiles of hell which will end after human lunch time. Then I will come see how you're doing with training, and when you're done we will come back for the time of human dinner." Matthew said to me as he set each time and alarm on his watch. All I did was nod, as I imagine flying through the air like every person's dream.
"Are you done with your food raven?" I jumped slightly at his voice as he brought me out of my day dream
"Y-yes I am." I said softly and stood up ready to clean my plate.
"No need, for the maids will wash the dishes." Matthew said reading my mind again. He also stood up and began to walk to the door.
"Come we don't want to keep Agaliarept waiting." He started looking at his watch. I nodded and jogged to catch up to his pace, so I was next to him as we walked. It took about ten minutes to get to the arena that is located outside of town. It has a similar structure of the Colosseum in Italy but with different designs and looks much older. We entered the ground where I will be training for most of the month. Agaliarept was there setting up weapons mats and other things that might help me today. The Colosseum seemed much bigger inside than the outside, it was very pretty but I have to think about how many people or demon things died on the ground I walked on. The thought made me shiver and I tried to distract myself by looking around.
"Welcome my lord and master Alex," he bowed at us in respect.
"Thank you and good luck to both of you. I would stay but I must take my leave now." Matthew states then vanishes in a mist leaving me and Agaliarept together.
"Master Alex you don't mind if I see your wings for a second?" Agaliarept said, walking over and ran his hand along the top. I nodded and stretched out my wings slowly to its full length. He inspects them, poking here and there, moving the feathers to see if they are all healthy. I tried my hardest not to shiver, the wings are still sensitive.
"They're good real good, even though they are really old they are still healthy." Agaliarept states still looking the wings up and down.
"What will we be doing first with the wings sir Agaliarept?" I asked him to turn around to look at him.
"Well that's simple we will start with flying," he said after letting out a chuckled and unfolded his massive bat-like wings.
"Where did those come from!?" I questioned in shock.
"That's step two don't jump ahead," he answered back. Then stepped a few feet back spreading his wings even more.
"Now with flying master Alex you move your wings in a circular motion using more force when you push down so it propels you up and or forwards." Agaliarept mentioned while moving his wings in the motion he said and wants me to do.
"Stand on the mats to your right so you wont get hurt if you fall," Agaliarept states then started walking over to the mat and pointed to the red taped X showing he wanted me to stand on it. I stood on it nervously and fiddled with my fingers.
"Come now spread your wings." He instead crossed his arms. I once again did what he told me and slowly spread my wings still being nervous. I then began to move my wings in the circular motion like he mentioned before. Agaliarept took a step back to give me room to I guess fail. I sped up the motion of my wings and began to lift off the ground, I gasped when I no longer felt the ground under my feet. I didn't know what to do with my arms and legs so I pulled them close to my body feeling more comfortable in that position.
"Now that's how you get off the ground, hover, and get back on the ground." Agaliarept said walking around me.
"To go forwards angle your body to lean forwards and use your wings in a horizontal oval motion instead of vertical." Agaliarept then stated stopping back in front of me and showed with his wings the motion I need to move them in. I loosen my limbs and let them fall to my side so I could have some balance to lean forwards. But to my knowledge I have no balance and leaned too far forwards and ended up falling onto my face on the mat with a thud.
"You leaned too far forward, now get up and do it again." He snickered not being a fan of failure. I got off and tried again. It took three hours and a lot of busting my butt for me to finally get it down. I stayed close to the ground but continued to fly around the arena. And then I fell to the ground with an ungraceful THUD! Dust billowed around me and I sat up, frustrated. I had these wings but why were they so hard to work with? I knew physics class was a waste of time. Aerodynamics can suck my ass.
I noticed a nearby boulder and had an epiphany. After standing up and brushing the dirt off, I made a run for the boulder. With a graceful leap, I bounced off the rock and became airborne. For literally three seconds. It was fun while it lasted. I started to do a nose dive towards the ground, I tried slowing down by flapping my wings. More like flailing. But it was no use I closed my eyes ready for the ground impact, but I collided with something else that was just as hard. I finally opened my eyes to see I was right on top of the devil himself. Matthew.
