Saori

I woke up as I heard a loud knock on the door. I got up from the bed and approached the door to open it.

Is anyone even awake at this time of night?

When I opened the door, I was greeted by two maids.

"Hi sorry to bother you, but Ninang asked if you'd like to join them in the bon fire downstairs" A maid said with a smile.

"We've noticed that you had just woken up, sorry for interrupting your sleep" explained another maid.

I'm still sleepy but I forced myself to come. After all, I wouldn't want to be rude.

I wore a jacket and headed down stairs.

When I came down, I saw them all in the middle of the ground floor and facing the fire. They were all laughing and having fun.

Ninang saw me and offered a seat besides her.

"Iha, it's  good thing that you're still awake." said Ninang with a smile.

Of course, I gave her a forced smile but you can see how tired i really am. I actually feel guilty about how i acted earlier. I know is shouldn't have been rude because they were even nice enough to even let me stay here.

I was sitting quietly in the corner observing everything and everyone. I felt relaxed with the warmth of the fire in front of me and also the laughter of the people surrounding me.

Andres suddenly sat besides me. What's his problem now?

He said he didn't want to be too close to any guy, especially not him.

I moved a bit away and asked him rudely. "Why?"

He looked at me confused. "Huh?"

"Why are you sitting next to me?"

He raised an eyebrow at me. "Am i not allowed to?" Gosh, this guy. Is his only motive is to annoy the shit out of me?

I didn't answer, there was no point in talking instead I toasted up some marshmallow in the fire.

Because I was sleepy, I hurriedly finished up. I asked Ninang permission to leave because I was getting a little tired.

"Oh no, could you wait a little longer? I promise this won't take too long" she said, turning her back.

Great! Just great!

Andres approached me. Why does he keep following me?

He didn't say a word, he just stood next to me.

I didn't want to start a conversation so I just stayed quiet because I don't want to be approach by men anymore.

But this Goddamn land louse keeps approaching me!

Suddenly i couldn't take his presence anymore and just snapped "Go away!" I said annoyed.

He looked at me and grinned. He brought his face very closer to mine which made be stepped back. My heart was beating fast.

"And why would I do that?" His face only inches against mine, I could feel his warm breath against my cheeks.

"Because I don't want to be with you!" I shouted. I hope no one else had heard that, i'm afraid to make a scene.

"And what if I don't?" Jeez just stop already.

I didn't answer instead I pushed him away and left.

Ugh! why do useless men keep entering my life!?

I wish I didn't gotten on that stupid bus then I wouldn't ended up in this hotel in the middle of nowhere!

As i was walking I heard a voice calling me from behind.

"Hey! Wait up!" hey frog! I was surprised by that.

When I turned around and saw the woman with her child. Two of the lucky survivors along with me and andres.

Actually I didn't actually got the chance to get to know her. She has seemed distant. Her son on the other hand is very loud and playful.

"You surprised me" I said shyly.

She came up to me. "Sorry with the way i shouted at you back then. My name is Saori" She said as She extended his hand to me.

"It's okay, Jane by the way" I gave her the same fake name that I gave to Andres.

I took her hand and shook it.

Me and Saori got along very well and the next thing you knew we were already friends.

"When I first saw you, I thought you were kind of a bitch. Sorry" She said jokingly as she patted me on the back.

I laughed with her. "I can't blame you. I did kinda acted like a bitch"

"Is the boy over there your son?" I suddenly asked out of curiosity.

"Ahh! He's yes he's my son" she said shyly. "My boyfriend got me pregnant but left me when he found out. Also, mom and dad couldn't accept that I was pregnant because they sent me out of the house." Saori suddenly change her tone and i could she it in her face that she wasn't okay.

Wow, men really are good for nothing jerks. I shouldn't brought it up since it looked like she been through a lot and she still manages to smile. Wow.

Maybe I was just being dramatic. I finally understood that i'm not the only one who has problems and is going through things. I shouldn't have used my emotions and issues as an excuse to be mean to people. I felt terrible.

"I'm so sorry to hear that" I said softly.

"It's okay. I am proud to be a mother to him. He means the world to me." she said with a smile.

That smile! The smile that makes you think everything is okay.
