Mirror and the Mountain

"{Pierce}!" Dyre said, stabbing with his spear. He had been training since he had awoken in his new home two weeks ago. Now he was training his spearmanship which he had seen great improvement, even before all of this he had shown great potential in the spear.

[you have mastered [Basic Spearmanship] you have gained the trait Spear Master]

[ damage done by a spear and spear skills is increased by thirty percent]

"Perfect! Now for the hard part." he said, running out of his training room. After looking around he had found his mother "Mom! I need to use the Mirror". The Reflection Gate, a relic owned by Lilith that worked similarly to an atlas stone, but reusable.

"Where would you need to go?" she said, raising an eyebrow. Dyre smiled " Mount Everorta".

Lilith just stood there "no" she said sharply Dyre tried saying something but his mother shot him down.

" I will not have my child go to a random mountain located in the broken tundra alone" Dyre sighed and said " and who would i go with your not aloud to leave hell and you don't have any people to escort me through the mountain" the only people in the ring of pride was Lilith and now him. No servants, no Guards, and definitely no warriors to protect him.

Lilith chuckled "oh but we do have people" Lilith then vanished and for a couple minutes he just stood there confused. 'Was there someone who worked for mom' as Dyre Imagined what Terrifying beast that was powerful enough to stay in the ring of pride. Then a knock came from the door beside him. " Uh, come in?"

Then a woman in a maid outfit walked in, this maid with silver wave-like hair and didn't look any older than thirty. The maid then bowed and said "Greetings young master" Dyre just looked at his mother in a maid's uniform and said in a dead tone.

"Mom this isn't funny" the maid gave the boy an odd look "young master must be very confused, Mistress Lilith is not here and she made sure that you won't be going anywhere without me there with you." the air around the maid had become harsh. Dyre decided to just roll with it and tried talking to her.

"Okay what's your name? Miss". The maid then smiled and bowed again "Lily"

Dyre looked at Miss Lily 'okay note to self mom is a bad liar'. "Okay miss Lily can we go to Mount Everorta together?"

Lily nodded her head and the Reflection gate appeared behind her.

The glass of the gate was black and as Lily snapped her fingers, the glass shifted and changed. The gate now held a long range of mountains, fresh tundra air blew through the gateway.

"Are you ready young Master?" Dyre sighed and said " you are not allowed to call me master in anyway or form." he commanded "But your mother…" "My mom is a very forgiving woman" Lily chuckled saying "you don't know your mother but okay, Dyre".

"Good then' yes I'm ready' the boy said as he gripped his spear. Lily then grabbed Dyre's free hand and jumped through the gate. Unlike the Atlas stone there was no dulling of the scenes as he traveled. It was as if he walked from one room two another.

It took a second for him to breathe. Lily put a hand on his chest "it takes a second to get used to, Dyre". The young Beacon picked himself up, and started to move.

"So where are we going? There is not much in the Shattered Tundra, so I'm wondering why you would want to come here." The maid said walking next to him as he was walking around the base of mount Everorta.

She wasn't wrong there was not even drinkable water for miles, let alone a human settlement. "You'll know soon enough, Miss Lily." he said, finally finding what he was looking for.

It was the base of a spyre the rest of the structure had fallen to the sands of time. What made the structure so eye-catching, was the material it was made of. Sandstone the yellow rock popped against the black rock of the mountain that served as its foundation..

"Ruins?" she said, watching the boy as he ran to the ancient tower. Dyre had made it into the ruin. "So what's here?" she said to Dyre who was grinning like a fool in this small ruin, but he was silent as he looked at the only thing of note in the spyre.

It was a huge and imposing dragon statue, teeth bared as if snarling and wings spread. This statue had stood the test of time and had outlived the spyre it had dwelled. Dyre grabbed his spear and "(Pierce)" stabbed the dragon's throat. Where he pierced the statue it had gave in and as he hoped the floor behind them disappeared revealing a staircase.

"Oh, would you look at that." Lily said Dyre grabbed her hand and excitedly brought her down with him going down the spiral staircase and it led them to a small room. In the room was two podiums that held a book each, and in the middle of these two podiums lay an interesting spear. Its shaft was five feet long and the blade was eight inches wide and a foot long, it was the Gae Bolg, the most powerful spear in the game and this world.

After grabbing the two books. what then appeared before him made him smile and laugh with glee.

[would you like to take the class Dragon Slayer?]

He didn't have to think twice and took the job, two more paines had then appeared.

 [gained class magic Weight Shifting]

[Gained class skill Heavy and Light Spearmanship]

Dragon slayers, warriors who trained tooth and nail to fight and kill the strongest living creatures, dragons. "Dragon Slayers huh haven't heard of them for almost five hundred years, who would've thought that they left this all here"

Lily was right, Origin of the dragon slayer order arose with the war between humanity and dragons. The first dragon slayer George had taken a thought to be useless magic weight shifting and turned it into a power fighting style that could slaughter the once thought unkillable dragons.

Ironically this powerful order of warriors died along with the war. As a peace offering for the dragons weight shifting and the records of the dragon slayers were destroyed. Thankfully not trusting the dragons Cu Chulainn the strongest of them left these records and his weapon if the dragons ever tried to attack humanity again.

Good for humanity and dragon alike the peace has lasted for over five hundred years and counting. "So I'm guessing you're going to learn the ways of the dragon slayers?" Dyre nodded happily "and what are you going to do with that power?" Dyre raised an eyebrow

" Will you get revenge on your parents? It is obvious to me and the Mistress that you are not on speaking terms with the Lanterns. Is this for revenge? Because I have reason to believe that Mistress would happily slaughter them for you." Dyre looked to His mother that was for some reason in a maid outfit. And shook his head.

"No, I don't want them killed and I don't want revenge." Dyre had seen the end of that path, and even if he could get stronger than that version of himself, It just wouldn't fix anything. Why get stronger then, he could live in the ring of pride in the lap of luxury. He was doing this because he knew what was going on and he knew the future. Of course it was proven to him that the knowledge was flawed but it was still right.

"My name is Beacon its a better Lantern and i take my name very seriously" he looked to lily and continued."i will be a true hero, i will actually help people and i will outshine any Lantern!"

LIly looked at the boy and smiled as the reflection gate appeared behind her and spoke.

"Okay lets go home Great hero of Pride.
