Hell's Insanity

"For it was told by the old books, where angels and demons collide" "When gods shall stretch their rule and dominion" "Ye have not be forgotten" "For men shall covet power". ........................................................................... In the year 3040 Earth has reached its limits, its resources depleted, its ecosystem destroyed, and even humanity hangs on its last rope due to its severe overpopulation. Conquering space was our only hope, but the help of several talented scientists in their various fields coming together made such a dream a possibility. Unfortunately, in the year 3045, an earthquake on a global scale sent every human on earth into a frenzy. At that point, a voice was heard by everyone, as a template hung in the sky. A question with two choices, an answer that decided one's destiny from that day onward. But unfortunately, not everyone picked the right choice. Elijah kingsman was a 19 years old university freshman, who had just escaped the horrors of world war 3 and couldn't have picked a better day to make the worst decision of his life. In his judgement, his very being was sent to limbo by an undead giant. There he meets an imp far different from his average fantasy personage. Coerced to make a deal, Elijah made a deal that would change his life forever. ............................................................................... “Don’t worry boy” “It seems I haven’t introduced myself,” the imp said widening the smile on its face. “I am Deltrich, ‘he who bears the Principality of knowledge’” Elijah wasn’t sure if he saw a ray of light coming from Deltrich. But he was sure of one thing, that this was no ordinary imp. Deltrich who was already done with his introduction, saw Elijah looking at him in awe, and puffed his chest up in pride. “I am sure there’s nothing you have that I want and nothing you can give that I desire”. Deltrich said choosing to break the atmosphere. “In other words, a deal which I’m sure would be satisfying to both parties” Elijah who wasn’t used to this type of situation scrunched his face up in frustration. He knew Deltrich,’ the Imp’ wasn’t his usual fantasy personage, so he decided to keep his mouth shut and listen to what Deltrich had to say. “In return, you shall ask me anything you want and I shall offer if it’s beneath my power”. ......................................................................... Peculiar encounters

Which left him in no hurry to freely test his strength after considering his current situation.

Quickly heading back to the cave he had found some few months ago when he started looking for plants to produce the medicine, Elijah quickly found shade as he down while concocting the herb to finally heal his legs.

...…

''Perfect'' Elijah exclaimed as he felt the sudden burden from his legs were gone, although he wondered if his legs were poisoned considering he still felt pains after the wounds had already closed, he was still grateful as it was still something he could currently treat.

Elijah quickly went to practising the first technique of the 'Timeless elusion magicraft', which is the shadowless steps, he needed to at least achieve an intermediate level mastery if he wanted to survive.

So Elijah stayed up all day continuously channelling mana through his legs to ingrain the pattern of the energy continuously flowing into his body. He knew he had to pour every effort he had, or else every day would be his last dying breath.

….....

Elijah could be seen currently running through the forest as he was pursued by a herd of about 16 sleiphers, each carrying the same amount of hatred in their eyes.

Elijah wanted to try another delicacy of meat since after getting a taste of the strange demonic bird beast, he grew tired of it. So he went looking for the demonic sleiphers beast as a means to satiate his hunger for new delicacies.

But unfortunately, things didn't go as planned as he was currently being chased down by a herd of slippers after they found out how he butchered a brethren of theirs. It seemed that some demonic beasts possess some more intelligence than others, who only needed to move by their instincts if they wanted to survive in this harsh environment.

Even though he had run out of their territory, they still followed him, and it seemed they won't leave Elijah alone until they have his head placed in between their claws, considering the crazed expression of each of them.

Elijah ran away faster, adding more strength to his legs, Elijah jumped as he made it to the other side of the rock obstructing his path.

Looking at his back, Elijah saw them getting past the huge rock too with little to no issue.

Of course, he had expected that getting rid of them wouldn't be easy, but after running for several hours, Elijah was already reaching his limit. Looking around, Elijah continued racing through the forest as the sleiphers continued chasing him from behind.

......

[Little Steel Mountain}

On a mountain, about 12,000ft tall, at the very tip existed a grand style building at the centre, with hundreds of houses surrounding it, although they paled in comparison to the building of the centre. At the end at the tip of the mountain that had a huge gate with some words written on a plate that hung on it.

[Golden steel clan]

The very grand style house which looked old and traditional, was currently full, as a meeting was currently taking place in a huge hall which is about 60 inches wide and 24 inches deep.

Although it looked quite spacious, there were no less than 13 individuals each wearing different attires, but one thing that stood in common was the image of a golden sabretooth which was imprinted on the back of each individual.

"It's been two months since old master Bael and his party had gone in search for the 'spirit flamed orchid' " Erostas said.

"You are really lucky he isn't around for you to call him an old master" Dimos said looking at his fellow clan elder who looked solidly built while possessing narrow brown eyes with his medium-length, greasy hair that is left un-styled.

"humph"

"I believe he is already old and very much behind his prime to know that climbing the higher levels of ascension is already unachievable" Erostas responded as his voice grew colder by the second.

"hahaha hahaha," Dimos laughed as though he had just heard the funniest joke in all his years of being an ascendant.

Responding with the same icy tone, Dimos said.

"Well, you could have joined the quest when we were looking for participants, and I'm sure you knew when this all happened, if not how could you call yourself an esteemed clan elder"

"Tttcchhhh....it seems clan elder Dimos has been offended by something I said, oh please! forgive me if I said something that had attracted your unwarranted furry" Estoras sarcastically said.

Letting his mana leak out, Dimos slowly let out the aura of 7th tier low ranked devil to slowly leak out, as the halls suddenly turned chill for a moment.

"If you esteemed clan elders can't respect yourselves, then at least respect the others before you as we didn't come here today to pick a fight with each other" a tanned skinned man whose notable feature was the rebellious aura surrounding him suddenly said, trying to lessen the tension in the atmosphere.

"I understand, but we all know that the search wasn't going to be easy, not only that, but also it was the same as throwing them to their deaths" Dimos said as he turned to face Haris, a man with dark long kinking hair tied to the back in a pony, wearing a traditional attire as an elegant tattoo of a sabre-toothed were displayed on his arms.

Although he looked old, Dimos was older than him as he had regressed in his ascension with no way to ascend, allowing age to catch up to him as his lifespan slowly depleted.

"But we all know they made their choices, choosing to sacrifice themselves for the greater good of the clan" Haris said as he shook his head in defeat.

"You sent them to their deaths, on a suicide quest with little to no preparations" Dimos scowled as the pressure surrounding him continued to grow stronger.

Me!!!

"We all made the agreements"

"We all knew the various possibilities of the dangers they would encounter"

"And we all knew of the consequences we would face if we hadn't decided our next step of action. Or do you want to be held responsible for the destruction of our clan, clan elder Dimos? " Haris said as his face scrunched up in anger.
