My eyes start to narrow, 'How to speed up the process?'
---
"Hurrryyy—" Lana says while looking out from the door crack.
"I know, I know, but this is the first time I'm doing this," Sera speaks from behind a desk.
"Somone will come soon," Lana adds.
"Well—sorry, but Brother never gave me knowledge about mind control," she has her hands on either side of a man's head.
"Why couldn't the principal just let us go up a grade? We have the highest grades possible and filled all the requirements," Lana wonders.
"I don't know either. But his smell always got really bad whenever we asked him."
"Yeah, he always said we didn't fill the 'extra requirements,' whatever they—oh, someone's coming," Lana ducks away from the door and moves to Sera.
"I'm—almost—done!"
They both move away to the other side of the desk and sit down.
"Principal Robertson, there's another—oh, you're already meeting with someone," an older teacher says as she walks in.
He looks up from the desk, with a smile, after losing his daze, "Nothing to worry about. I was just preparing to move these two up a grade."
He shakes his head, continuing, "At this rate, they'll be out of here in a couple months."
"We work very hard," Sera and Lana act determinedly.
"That you must..."
Eventually, they were let out of school early so their new teachers could prepare for them.
Stepping into the snowy landscape, Sera says, "Ugh. Finally, we can move on to the next grade."
"Yeah, I was getting fed up with th—" Lana becomes alert, "You feel that too, right? It's the same as before."
"Mm-hmm. Like we're being watched."
Lana nods, "It feels like someone a lot stronger than those freaks too."
They keep looking around as they walk away from school. Though, they aren't all that concerned, as it's still someone they can handle with the power available to them.
After a minute, it disappears, and they ease up.
"I wonder who it is? They've shown up every now and then since the invasion."
"I don't know, and I don't care," Sera starts running down the sidewalk, "Let's gooo!"
Lana catches up to her, "Did you already forget?"
"Forget what?"
"We have a mission, remember."
She stops running, "Oh—yeah. We have to get milk."
"And—" Lana implores, wobbling her head.
"Eggs?" Sera smiles nervously.
Sighing, Lana says, "Milk, eggs, bacon, and cheese—and we have to do it without destroying anything."
"Got it!" She looks determined and starts speedwalking.
Lana can only sigh—again—and follow.
They eventually make it to a general store and get all the groceries that Zadkiel had assigned for them to bring home.
Finding them wasn't an issue, but the buying process was.
Even Lana lost her patience, muttering, "Every moment waisted in this line is a moment I can't cuddle."
"Don't crush the eggs," she hears Sera from her shoulder.
She looks down at her hands, "Oops..."
They eventually completed their mission and made it to their condominium's elevator.
When the door opened, some cops came out carrying a couple boxes.
They paid no mind as they walked in as it wasn't uncommon for a policeman to be here every so often.
But when they got a 'whiff' of them, they could both smell a familiar scent.
They look at each other with widening eyes, "Brother!"
Sera starts to push their floor's button nonstop until the doors close.
---
"... Whoa, hold on. Repeat that question."
"Are you connected with these murders?"
I look at the detective like he's an alien, "Do I look like someone who goes around murdering random people?"
"All the victims are people who voiced opposition against yours and Latveria's company. You tell me, Mr. Goldmann; is that not enough cause for suspicion?"
I sigh, "Yeah—I suppose you're not out of your mind to come to that."
I wave to the policemen standing at the side, "Go ahead and search. I'm not exercising any of my diplomatic rights as of now."
They nod and walk out of the room.
Looking back at the detective, a serious-looking man, I ask, "I imagine you have more questions?"
Nodding, he says, "The murders started after the—incident—and have been increasing in frequency ever since."
I nod, "And you want to know where I've been—every day—for more than half a year?"
"That would help, Mr. Goldmann."
With a heavy sigh, I—don't tell him.
Instead, I send the information directly to his brain while making him think I told him.
'Like hell, I'm going to go through all that.'
While he's writing down everything, I recall something he said earlier, 'They started just after the invasion. That—sounds familiar.'
The two officers walked out of the front door just as the detective finished his notes.
"Anything else, Detective?"
"Yes—I also need to know where your—sisters have been, as well." He was a bit uncomfortable saying that.
I frown but send him the information, 'You're going to lose your head soon, Bucko.'
I was going to use this whole situation for the girls to learn how to deal with douchebags, but I'm finding this guy too annoying to keep around.
'Speaking of, they should be here soon,' I look at the door which was left open.
Soon enough, he's finished again, but before he can say anything, Sera and Lana rush in, dropping the groceries in the kitchen while doing so.
"What's going on, Zad!? Did something happen?" They came to my sides, looking at the detective like he's an enemy.
Putting my hands on their heads, I say to him, "I think that should be all, Detective."
However, he doesn't seem satisfied with the air I've let him breathe so far, "I would like to ask them—"
Grabbing him by the neck faster than he can blink, I speak in his ear, "I believe~ I have been more than accommodating thus far."
I look into his eyes, letting him see mine, which are now alight, "I recommend you not to push FURTHER!!"
With that, I throw him through the front doorway, which finally shuts after he went through it.
However, he won't ever say anything as I made sure he won't even remember what just happened, nor will he be injured.
He'll only be left with an intense urge to never piss me off.
"And that! Girls. Is how you deal with a douchebag."
'So much for teaching them civility,' Releasing a sigh, I turn around.
I have to tilt my head at what I see.
Their both bright red and blurry-eyed, staring at me while breathing hard.
Rolling my eyes, I flick their foreheads, which is enough to 'reset' them and act oblivious to their previous behavior.
'I don't get it. They've aced every subject, including sex ed, but still can't tell what was just happening to them.'
I go over and pick up the dropped groceries, fixing the cracked eggs and leaking milk.
'Do they not understand any of it, or do they think that because they aren't human, it doesn't apply to them?'
The two start putting everything away after I'm done.
'Then again, they don't have those 'days' of the month, so they probably don't think about it much.'
God must have thought an angel who got all bloody and hormonal every month would cause trouble, so... it doesn't work that way with us.
After everything was back to normal and I made supper, with them learning alongside me, I told them why the police were here.
They saw the connection just like I did; this is also when I came up with a potentially dangerous and certifiably stupid idea.
"I have another mission for you two to accomplish."
They focus on me.
"You two are going to hunt down this person, or group, that's murdering these people."
Before they can get excited, I add, "And it must be done without anyone ever finding out—or else—I'll deem you two as having failed, no matter the outcome."
This sobers them up, as that isn't an easy feat.
"What if we erase their memories?"
"Kinda like you did at school today?" I smirk at their surprised faces, "You were using some soul power to do that."
The dawn of realization hits them.
"I'll allow it, but every time you do, it will reduce your score."
I make to get up from the dining table, but then I remember something else, "Oh, and you almost butchered the principal earlier, not that he doesn't deserve it."
"I made sure you succeeded, but I also made it so that he'll die a very agonizing death after you two graduate."
They nod, not really understanding.
'You two really aren't understanding them books...'
---
Later in the evening, I started mulling over my plans.
'I've sped up everything, and we are no longer being so subtle, but it doesn't matter anymore.'
I need two things to get what I want.
The first I was able to get as soon as the Ancient One accepted my gift, which Johnny and Roxanne delivered.
The second I will soon be able to acquire, legally, after another month or two. Once my political might becomes strong enough.
My company has already infiltrated nearly all countries in some way.
'Not every method was—kind—but I'm in a hurry now, and I want to get it over with.'
We are out-competing EVERY company in price, and our high-performance materials, industrial or otherwise, are several times better than anyone else.
On top of that, our manufacturing capacity can keep up with all the demand, meaning we're competing with every company on Earth that's in our category.
All at the same time.
This also brings a lot of trouble. Like assassination attempts, theft, or blackmail.
They never work, of course, but, 'I should have come up with a different idea for getting what I want...'
Thinking back, I now see so many easier ways to get it, but...
'Oh well. It doesn't matter now.' I wave my hand while thinking this.
I had to remove another assassin from existence before he even entered the building.
I sigh, "I suppose I'll go see her tomorrow. She's probably getting a bit antsy, herself, by now."

//Note//
It's filler.
But it's not empty filler.
--
I had the MC call the detective 'Bucko' on a whim.
As it turns out, Bucko is an actual Marvel character who's a detective with the NYPD.
This just goes to show you how powerful authors really are...
It definitely wasn't just a coincidence.
--
Perspective.
That is a big difference between an author and a reader.
Not just from the scope of the entire story but from scene by scene as well.
A conversation that only took a minute to read might be something the author stared at for 15-30 minutes.
I honestly find it humorous(not in a bad way, mind you) when I see people comment that they can't wait for the next chapter or that the story is taking too long.
Trust me when I tell you: No matter how much you may want another chapter, the author wants it way more than you.
Because they have to watch as the story grows PAINFULLY slow chapter by chapter.
It's literally like watching the grass grow but being really excited whenever it gets a millimeter taller.
--
What's he getting?
You should know by the next chapter.
I really hope there isn't a lore reason that I haven't seen it done before; because what the MC will do is literally the FIRST thing I would do with the time stone if I was ever in Marvel.
Also, looking back, I could have made this way easier on the MC to get what he wants...
Oh well, too late now.
P.S.
I've seen a lot of people misunderstand the thing he's going after.
So before you jump the gun and comment about how much time he wasted when it's revealed, make sure you read the notes first.
Or look it up; because it's not as simple as it may seem.
