Vampire King Apollyon

"You must have been hurt," Apollyon told her and her head wobbled to a slow nod while rubbing her eyes with her pudgy little hands. "I'm sorry that your sister punched you in the face."  He even added gruffly as he pried her hands away from her face because she was rubbing too hard that the whites in her eyes had turned bloodshot.

He seemed to have felt the child's pain seeping into his pores when she cried out earlier but he quickly dismissed it as a hallucination. 

Looking around, Apollyon snatched a clean towel draped on the crib's wooden rails and wiped the clear snot almost dripping unto her pouting upper lip.

After hanging the sticky cloth back to the rail, he peeked at the sniffing child beneath his lashes.

As the Vampire King, he couldn't have his royal firstborn taste her own mucus.
