Fall of the Beast (End of Arc #1)

Deep inside the darkness Samael saw the memories of his parent's death...the destruction of his clan. He felt anger, the frustration from being helpless to change things. That is why he swore to not stop till he had his revenge...

In the storm of negative emotions and the bad memories flooding his mind, he felt a soothing feeling, a cold that slowly ate away the anger burning inside of him. He started to feel...calm.

Wanting to seize and continue feeling that sensation, he stretched out his hands.

Slowly, he started to regain consciousness.

"Ugh..." Samael started groaning as he opened his eyes.

He then saw to what appears to be the back-side of a person's head. After that, the soft and plump sensation finally registered in his brain.

"You're awake! Thank goodness..." After hearing the man groan, Silvia was quickly alerted and pushed Samael's body away from her embrace.

"Uhh...yeah but as much as i appreciate the concern...You may want to stand up now, there are a lot of places here that shouldn't touch in the first place." Samael wirily smiled and there was a blush faintly visible as well.

Silvia pondered for a while what Samael meant but she suddenly shrieked and pushed Samael as she stood up.

Silvia's face was flushed red and her hands were placed down near her privates. When Samael woke up, she was overjoyed since now they'll be able to defeat the beast faster. But then she felt something under her crotch slowly getting harder.

What was Samael suppose to do?

It was a natural physical reaction! Any man who suddenly wakes up and sees a beautiful girl straddling him would definitely get hard, especially if she's so close to his privates.

"Err...sorry about that, it was a natural reaction. I swear!" Samael definitely felt bad.

If it was any other girl, he wouldn't have apologized like this. He would've brushed it off as a joke.

"*Sob,*Sob...i'm dirty..." Samael heard Silvia sobbing, holding herself but the back of her neck was still red from embarrassment.

"Uhh..." Samael scratched his head and sighed before he walked towards the crying girl and knelt in front of her.

"Hey, stop crying...I'll make it up to you, I swear. One thing, I'll do anything that you want for just one time, alright?" Samael used his finger to wipe the tears from the corner of her eyes and tried his best to apologize to her and get her to stop crying but it's not going too well.

That's expected when it's the first time you like someone, you'll feel troubled when you see them troubled. You want to help them when they're in trouble.

Even Samael questioned himself why is he acting this way towards this girl. It was not like it would affect him much if he just left her and help the others who are fighting but someone he didn't like the thought of Silvia hating him. He even started to ask himself if he has fallen for her.

"*sob...you pervert-"

"Hey! less flirting and more fighting!" Before Silvia could go on they heard Princess Lina's voice echoed.

They suddenly remembered the situation that they were in. Silvia wiped the tears from her face and stood up but she couldn't erase the proof that she did cry. Samael on the other hand, scratched the corner of his head while smiling, thinking "She changes gears so fast..."

"One thing...you promised, don't forget that." Silvia shyly said before heading off.

Seeing the girl shyly run while uttering those words Samael smiled "You can count on it."

It didn't take them a while to reach the area of confrontation between the monster and Vanis and the others. Once they arrived, Samael clearly saw the change that the monster has went through. From the previous giant size it shrunk down in half and it looked more savage and beast-like.

Samael clearly had some ideas on what this transformation entails. He turned to Julian and said "Hey Julian, you have a spear?"

Julian who had just jumped away from a previous attacked of the monster, heard Samael and said with a bit of hesitation "Here! Don't you dare break it or I swear I'll break a bone or two."

Then he threw a Crimson spear towards Samael, it's length was a bit more than one and a half meter including the spearhead, which was 30 centimeters and three fingers in width. It had a Dragon's design coiling around the shaft.

"Iron-ranked...the design is a bit obnoxious though," Samael observed the spear in his hands and lightly commented.

He then waved the spear to his left, back to his right before twirling it, basically he played with it. Then he turned to Silvia and said "This one's a freebie so look closely."

Hearing this, Silvia was obviously curious. Samael wasn't a person who would just speak nonsense. Her senses sharpened and she focused very closely to Samael's every movement.

Seeing her intently focused on him, he chuckled before he operated his energy essence and the familiar black lightning crackled and coiled around him once again.

Bzzt!

Samael disappeared from his position leaving only a small gust of dust. Traversing the distance of 500 meters or more in just a moment, he appeared near the monster's foot. The monster sensed his presence and swung it's beast-like arms. Samael quickly moved once again, appearing behind the the monster's left foot then he sped up.

Poised to strike with the Spearhead pointed to the ground on his right. Samael got near the back of the monster's feet and spun backwards to his left. Black lightning coiled around the whole spear and Cold frost covered the Spearhead.

"Ha!" Samael struck the upper part of the heel but he didn't stop there, after landing near the toes of the monster he jumped up and struck the hamstrings consecutively. He then created a small block of Ice under his feet and a flash of lightning blasted him to strike in other places.

He named this move: "Mirage" simple and easy to remember.

Silvia watched at as Samael dealt more and more cuts to the monster, she wondered what was she supposed to observe? Then she realized something as she was observing the monster's injuries from Samael.

"The wounds...they're not regenerating?!" Silvia exclaimed.

Princess Lina and Julian clearly heard this and they quickly focused their gaze to the monster's wounds.

"She's right!" Princess Lina also exclaimed, having her hands on her mouth.

"Damn, how did he do it?" Julian was also surprised.

Silvia carefully observed the wounds and saw a crystalline layer on top of burnt flesh.

"The burnt wounds are frozen in place!"

Of course Vanis and his team didn't stop attack the beast while preventing it from attacking Lina and the others, heard the commotion below. He also saw the state of the wounds and was astonished.

"So that's how it is..."

"Captain, what is it? What did that kid do?" one of his men asked.

"I saw a similar kind of wound before. Once when i was just a budding captain of the army, it was during an expedition to the border and we met a few enemy troupe. A confrontation happened and one of my men got his shoulder baldly burnt. A doctor later came to take a look, the result was that the herbs didn't work and the healing capabilities of the person didn't work properly."

"And? What does it mean?" his men further asked.

"I'm not entirely sure about it but i think wounds that are badly burnt cannot be healed by conventional means. But this boy made sure that even the burnt wounds wouldn't heal by freezing it." Vanis expressed his admiration for the boy's cleverness

Hearing this, his other teammates were astonished as well and began to attack with more fervor. Explosions went off left and right, the monster roared in anger swinging its arms around but the experts would quickly get out of the way. When it wanted to chase them, it fell to one knee and roared in pain once again.

"So your body is similar to human physiology. If the hamstring and other important muscles are wounded, it becomes harder to move." Samael sneered as he continuously moved, surrounded by black lighting he waved his spear causing wounds all around the monster's body.

"Damn! look at his show off. Come, let's not allow that brat to take the spotlight." Julian clearly didn't want to get overshadowed by a youngster, especially by Samael and he unceremoniously charged in.

Seeing this, Princess Lina shook her head, smiling "Well, it'd be pretty annoying if he brags about it after this is all over." seems like she was very confident in their victory then she too rushed forward.

The couple worked in tandem, one will cut open the wound while the other would unleash a terrifying fire attack on it. Sometimes, their roles would switch but mostly it was Julian who was doing the cutting and Lina who was blasting the wound with fire.

Seeing this and Samael still flashing all around the monster, injuring it in numerous places. Silvia was astonished by "such innovative way of using the Ice element..." she admired the various ways Samael used his Ice element in coordination with his Lightning element.

"Ha-ha...and they call me and some other noble children as 'Geniuses'..." Silvia was secretly ashamed of herself because she was proud of being hailed as a genius and being looked up upon. She took pride in hearing the praises of her seniors and other people.

But clearly, all that did was made her full of herself. Luckily, she wasn't raised to be arrogant so she flaunts her power in front of others.

Sighing, she took a deep breath before a sharp gleam shone from her eyes. She smiled as she brandished her sword then she took off. Her speed was much faster than Julian and Lina so she quickly caught up. But her next action stunned everyone including Samael.

Silvia jumped up and there was a small block of Ice, clearly forming underneath her feet. She scaled up the monster one step at a time, all the while creating cuts on its chest. But she didn't stop there, she continued going up then when she reached the bone armor on the monster's forehead.

The monster freaked out and desperately tried to bite her. Its movement was faster than she anticipated, the jaws of the beast were wide open and it was slowly closing. Her feet were clearly in the range where the monster could bite it off cleanly.

"Not a chance!" Suddenly the jaws of the beast were forced to closed.

Samael delivered an uppercut to the chin, just in time to allow Silvia to get away. He followed her and they reached the ground. Without saying many words, they turned to each other and nodded. Samael grabbed her hand then they disappeared from their position as the monster bashed its arm towards them, shattering the earth to pieces.

They appeared behind the monster's back. Still holding her hand, Samael spun and Silvia's body followed, she used the momentum to cut the beast behind then Samael followed up with a lighting-infused spear attack, stunning the beast.

Infuriated, the monster roared, its eyes were glowing red and the runes on its body were shining. Even the bone armor on its forehead was shining but it was only a slight glow and only for a moment.

"Huh?" But Samael clearly noticed it. He turned to the experts and shouted "The Forehead! attack the Forehead!"

The experts heard this and nodded, two of them quickly charged in. One threw his hands in the air and smashed them down, breaking the bone armor to pieces and revealing the red crystal hidden inside.

But the monster didn't give them the chance to shatter it, it began flailing around, waving its arms in the air like swatting a fly. Because of this, the experts couldn't get in close and couldn't get a clear shot of the crystal. They were slowly getting irritated when the worst possible thing happened.

The rune on the beast started glowing then you could visibly see it shrinking. Then it turned around and started to speed up.

"Oh no! It's trying to run away. Stop it!" Vanis shouted

"Yes, sir!" his team answered.

Four of them joined up and used a sealing art, four chains darted towards the beast but it nimbly dodged away.

"Damn! It's too fast!" they cursed.

Then suddenly they saw a black streak catch up to the beast as it fled.

"Get ready to strike" They heard Samael's familiar voice.

Samael caught up to the monster, Silvia in tow. He was traveling much faster than he did because they were working together. Silvia was focusing on creating ice blocks mid-air and Samael was focused on using those ice blocks to catch up to the monster.

Soon, they finally caught up and they were just right above the monster. Obviously, the monster was preoccupied with escaping and didn't care much about Samael and Silvia.

Once they were closer to the monster Samael, threw his spear infused with lightning at the leg of the monster, making it stumble. This allowed him to land on top of the monster and use his attack.

Terminus Frozen Wrath!

Again, Samael used the technique which hindered the monster twice already. Ice quickly formed around the monster's body, sealing it in a coffin of Ice. It didn't take long for the experts to react and a beam of light blasted toward them.

Samael and Silvia saw the beam approaching and quickly jumped off the beast, into safety.

The beam of light pierced the back of the monster's head and went through, breaking the red crystal along the way. Like this, the monster that took them a lot of effort to defeat died in a cold, frozen coffin.
