Chapter 3: Menial Task

[Sky Castle]

With the Garden sizing about 25,000 square meters long, Asagi then spent about half of her own day tending the whole garden, but despite that she was only able to tend for about 1,000 square meters in six hours

Seeing the sheer amount of work infront of her and added to this back braking task, she couldn't help but complain as she remembered her black company lifestyle

With a groan while massaging her hips, she then turned towards Michael who was carrying a bag of leaf towards a certain trash bin as she complained

"Aren't we working too slow?"

Hearing that Michael simply looked towards her as he pondered her words before replying sincerely

"I think not your majesty, I think we're doing great actually"

With that Asagi simply cringed on his words as she said

"Nonono! That can't be! No matter how you point it out, nor how we look at it, this task of tending this whole garden is simply impossible! I mean look! Were already tired out just by uprooting some weeds by the grass"

At that Michael simply stopped his works he said with a comforting smile

"Your majesty! There is a reason why a work is called a task! It won't be simply a challenging task if such work is easy right? Plus this is a good way to build up your image"

"My image? Why would I simply work on that?" Asked Asagi as she stretched out her arms in the air

With that Michael then replied humbly

"Because your the queen of this castle, a ruler of this future to be well known country, simply means that your the queen in the sky, the whole blue sky is your territory, a royalty by any means... and to be able to lead your subjects well, you will need to be a perfect role model"

At that Asagi simply pouted as she placed both of herhand unto her cheeks as said

"Well I never really wished to be ruler nor a queen though"

Hearing her words Michael was simply dumbstruck by it as he remained composed on his position and kept silent

With the silence brewing all around the surroundings, it was then natural for Asagi to realize the mood as she felt that she had wronged Michael

Upon realizing that she then tried to mend her mistake towards Michael, unfortunately the latter simply bowed his head before leaving her behind in the garden

Seeing that silent reaction Asagi couldn't help but scorn herself as she clicked her tongue in disappointment

But since she was then left alone, she then continued on her job as she pulled out the weeds in the garden

With the sun blazing hot above them, added to that burning humid in the air, it was then natural that Asagi herself would sweat it out, but nevertheless she didn't stop her movement as she co tinued on her work diligently

With her being busy and all, she didn't even notice that 30 minutes had then passed by when Michael finally returned with a glass of cold juice on both of his hands

Naturally he handed one of the glass towards Asagi, which shocked the person himself

But upon seeing that Michael was simply unaffected by her previous remark, she then stood up fromthe ground as she slowly drank her glass of cold juice

After taking a sip she then looked towards Michael's directions she said

"Hey! I didn't mean my previous words okay? It's just a slip of the tongue"

Hearing that Michael simply nodded as he started pulling out some weeds off from the ground

"I know... people often makes mistakes your majesty, we too are not exception from this rule... no one is perfect, not the humans, not the demons, not even gods... everyone make mistakes"

Hearing him Asagi then simply wondered his words as she asked

"What do you mean not the gods? Don't you believe that an existence of a God is perfect?"

At that Michael then said

"God may be good, but he is not perfect, as I told you before everyone makes mistakes and history proves it"

Upon hearing that Asagi then simply went silent as she looked at Michael's back, but before she could doze off, the latter actually called out to her as he snapped her out of her daze

"Your majesty! I think working unto this task takes priority, so why not help me here instead of just standing there"

Being called out like that Asagi then jolted for a bit as she quickly puts down her glass somewhere and helped

Michael in tending the garden

Just like that they then spent their whole day tending this huge garden of the sky castle

By the time they're finished on their work, the sun had then already set as the moon rises above everything on the surface, with that, night then came for everyone

Calling it a day Michael then did his daily job of taking care of Asagi's daily needs, such as dinner and bath

After taking dinner in the huge dining area for the first time, Asagi then went on ahead as she went to her huge bath house

Just like that the castle provided her with a hot bath, just the exact treatment for the cold weather they are having

As she sat down on her huge warm pool, she then checked her system interface only to receive a notification from the system itself

Seeing that her task was finished just like that Asagi couldn't help but be slightly happy for herself as she checked out the things that her credits could do

But most of all she was attracted to see that she would be able to summon another servant using credits, due to that she was quite elated at the moment

With such a hard job such as tending the garden already finished, she couldn't help but relax her slim body as she breath out in relief

But before she could filly relax her nerves she then suddenly recieved another menial task for her preparation in traveling the whole world

Paint the whole castle with your favorite color

Remark:

Your castle need to be grandiose right?

Seeing another hard task Asagi couldn't help but curse out loud which shocked Michael who was not far away from her location

"What the f*ck!!!"

The very next day Asagi then asked for Michael's support and assistance once more as she plans to paint the whole castle in white

Of course there are reasons why she chose the white color, firstly because she thinks that white colored castle's look majestic and fantasy like, secondly her castle would look clean and appealing to any people in the world and regard it as a castle of the gods, thirdly it would be easy to spot some dirt on it if it is dirty, and lastly because she is lazy in picking the color

With those reasons, she then concluded that she would use white when painting the whole castle

Placing her hands unto her waist she then called out towards Michael

"Do we have enough paint cans?"

"Yes we do your majesty, a total of 230 cans"

"Do you think that's enough?"

"If it's not then we can just get some in the storage"

"I see... but what about the brushes"

"We also got them your majesty a total of 400 different size of brushes"

"How about the ladder that we will use to climb the high walls? We need to make sure that such ladder would reach the ceiling"

"About that... your majesty we have wings, we could just fly up there if needed"

Hearing that sudden remark, Asagi then coughed dryly at that moment as she waved her hand to proclaim that Michael should forget what she said

"Forget about that... but lastly... cue the music"

"What kind?"

"What kind? Of course its ro-... right this is another world, anyway let's just start"

Pushing those thoughts aside Asagi then picked up a can of paint as she flew off towards the ceiling with a brush and started her tiring work

Seeing her enthusiast Michael simply picked up another can of paint as he headed elsewhere and started painting the outer walls

With that both Asagi and Michael started their own work as they painted the whole castle which was sizing about 150,000 square meters

Due to the sheer size of the castle both Asagi and Michael finished their job in 7 days as they in fact need to make sure that the paint is dry before the task is completed

With that Asagi had then officially spent 2 weeks in this another world just tending merely towards preparing her castle

Just like always Michael then gaveher a warm dinner and bath before the system notification popped out of nowhere

Seeing that Asagi simply gave out a sigh of relief before another menial task popped out second after the congratulatory notification

Clean the whole castle

We need to stay clean and hygienic

At that Asagi gave a compelling groan as she quickly submerged into the water

Just like always the very next day Asagi called out towards Michael as she made him prepare all the cleaning utilities that is needed to clean the castle

With that Michael simply brought a whole bunch of things just for cleaning

"Your majesty! I've brought everything that we can use to clean the castle, should we start now to save time?" Asks Michael upon seeing Asagi's tired look

"Lets just do this!" Said Asagi as she picked up a broom and dusting pan before heading inside the castle to clean

As for Michael himself he just picked up a feather duster and a wiper as he headed out towards the windows of the castle to start his cleaning duty

While Michael was busy cleaning the exterior places of the castle, Asagi om the other hand planned to head straight towards the dirtiest place of the castle, the storage area

Upon entering the storage room, dust and smoke then suddenly came rushing out in waves as Asagi coughed roughly at the situation

In fact she didn't even expect that the storage room would be this messy which is enough to accumulate dust and smoke inside

Upon realizing that she then realized that Michael did enter this place earlier, due to that she then wondered Michael's situation when he was faced with this mess

"Must be hard if your living alone in this huge castle"

Pushing that thought aside, Asagi then quickly flew inside the storage room as she began her cleaning routine as early as possible

Inside she could literally see cobwebs forming at every corner of the room, heck she could even see some mountain of dust forming up one some of the crates and boxes lying around

Putting on a mask for safety measures, she then opened up her wings as she begun to flap it hard to blow away all the dust around her

After blowing it away she would then use some of her mana to form a mana vortex which would gather the dust in the air justice a vacuum

As she created multiple mana vortexes in the air, she then started swiping the floor with her broom stick as she occasionally flap his wings to blew off the dust

Meanwhile just outside the castle while Michael was wiping the dirt on the window with his wiper, he then noticed the ventilation below the castle ground then kicked out some dust, seemingly coming from the inside of the castle

Seeing that Michael then realized that Asagi must have been in the storage room cleaning, since the vent below the castle that was spewing out dust was connected to the storage room

With a mutter he then shook his head

"Looks like your majesty! Tried to clean what she think is the obvious dirtiest place in the castle... oh well its her decision anyway"

After stating that he then returned to wiping the windows as he hovered in the air

Soon after for the rest of the day both Michael and Asagi then cleaned the whole castle as fast as they could, but when the latter thought that the menial task she did for the past week was enough, she then revived another batch of task

Due to that for the whole month both Asagi and Michael attended the whole castle from simple cleaning and farming to renovating the whole castle

For one month they were truly worn out of their job, since only the two of them were working on every chore that the system asks

Finally for what seems like forever, the system then gave them their very last menial task which was too recharge the power source of the whole castle in the engine room

Unexpectedly the power source of the castle was a huge crystal just below ground surface of the castle itself

By recharging it, it would then take considerably a long time for both Asagi and Michael to completely move on from their location

Currently through the system tasks, Asagi was able to collect about 15,000 credits, which was enough to add some facilities in the castle

Nevertheless she had her own plans for such credits

Pulling up her sleeves towards her shoulders, Asagi then headed forth towards the huge crystal power source of the whole castle and tried to recharge it by any means necessary
