Chapter 1

In a desolate room enclosed on all four sides by steel walls, held in place by numerous rivets, lay only a small seemingly frail-looking boy covered only by a thin, red knitted blanket which had on it a golden-yellow fire emblem.

There was nothing else in the room and nothing was happening. The only thing of notice was that the boy had laid himself down not far from a heavy steel door separating him from the rest of the ship he was living In.

Time quickly passed until, with a bang, the heavy steel door separating the space from the rest of the ship swung open. Unexpectedly, and also unfortunately, the trajectory of the door's curve met exactly at the head of the sleeping boy, causing him to roll across his room and slam himself against the wall opposite.

The very next moment, the boy suddenly rose, with confusion abundant in his eyes, and immediately rushed his hands towards his head, where he had previously been hit, only to have an evident expression of shock as though this wasn't his head at all.

And it was true. The previous boy was no longer. Dead at the immediate impact of the weighty door and then replaced by the person now inhabiting this body.

Though this new person knew he was confused, he did not know why. He simply did not know. This could've been from the head trauma he now has, or the boy was so shocked and confused that his brain did not have the power to know at all.

He had decided to look around the room he was in, finding nothing but a blanket with a golden fire symbol that seemed somewhat familiar to him. This gave him some hope.

His eyes then met the persons who had opened the door in the first place, and he could see a helmet covering his face, black and outlined in red, but with white around the eyes along with a metal mouth-covering having three holes for breathing.

"Cleaner 1 get up you filthy brat, you were meant to start cleaning hours ago."

The voice of this man held arrogance and the boy could immediately tell that this person had much authority over him. Before he could even manage to start thinking of a response an object was thrown, hitting the boy in the stomach and causing him to hunch over, some stomach acid started climbing his throat.

Breaking eye contact with the man, the boy lowered his gaze to the object thrown at him, quickly recognizing it as a broom.

"You better hurry because I heard Prince Zuko isn't the happiest today."

The man had an air of power around him as he said this. The boy could also feel himself being ridiculed and laughed at by this man, causing rage to rise within his chest. This rage was extinguished, however, almost immediately as the boy processed those words.

"Prince Zuko?" The boy couldn't help but say this name out loud.

The boy's eyes instantaneously lit up after recognizing this name. As though he was a sleeper agent receiving a coded message, information flooded his brain and he almost jumped up in shock.

He knew where he was now. A grin almost crept its way upon his face but it was immediately recovered when he remembered the situation he was in.

Now that the boy realized he was inexplicably transported to the world of ATLA. He couldn't help but be overjoyed, but when he was about to start planning his actions the now-recognized fire nation soldier started to speak again.

"Yes, Prince Zuko. Have you forgotten where you are? Either way, the entire deck needs sweeping before sunset. Get to it!"

The fire nation soldier swiftly left, leaving the boy alone to go and sweep the deck.

Authors Note:

This first chapter doesn't have much going on because I'm really just testing to see if I feel like I can continue writing this fic. I already have the major plot outlined its just the small things along the way that worry me slightly. I've not written in a long while but if this chapter is relatively well received I don't think ill have any problems trying to go any further.

Thank you for reading.
