Heaven's Tribulation

When the Heaven Spirits descended, all that bore witness thought of it as a blessing. Only those that survived knew that it was a curse, shackles in place to monitor all beings within Heaven's Code, limits imposed to suppress all beings. Sheng Tian, who's talent transcends even that of the Absolute One, desires to break out of the confines of the Heavenly World and establish his own sanctuary. Will he fall facing the Guardians of the world? Will he stay true to his original intentions? Only time will tell. Operation Revision is underway! I will slowly but surely go back to my earlier chapters and revise them, using the experience I gained to patch up the holes. Any chapter that I have revised will be stated at the bottom in author's thoughts. Current progress: Chapters 1-10

Red Sky

Swish!

Without the slightest hesitation, the man mercilessly stabbed his own hand. Blood spewed everywhere uncontrollably like a broken fountain, flowing into cracks in the altar and forming a bubbly puddle.

Seeing the blood, the beasts seemed to have been enraged and became even more enraged. The pale faced man lifted his bloody hand and sent 6 globs of blood into the dead corpses outside the altar.

The previously dried corpses spasmed and swelled as the blood globs transformed into various poisonous critters and crawled into their mouths.

"Start the feeding"

The moment he said those words, the altar grew ever brighter and the mirror showing the moon seemed to have stopped in time.

Whoosh!

One ballooned corpse floated over to one of the terrifying creatures.

This first one's body was horribly swollen, and at the center was the face of a young man from the Sea Race, made apparent by the gills under his neck. Its flesh pulsated and extra limbs protruded in random places and ending in sharp talons.

As the corpse neared the thing, the swollen mass heaved and a large mouth opened where its stomach was supposed to be. The horrible maws contained dozens of rows of razor sharp teeth that bit down on the corpse.

Crunch!

Blood spilled out and onto the ground. It then wiggled and crawled to form runic inscriptions.

The next corpse moved, this time to a tall and lanky figure. Its skin was stretched and its face was too twisted to recognize. Several parts of the thing's body seemed to be rotting into a corrosive liquid.

The corpse that neared it was instantly swallowed into its gigantic mouth. Shortly after, blood leaked out of holes in different places of its body and formed the same inscriptions as before.

This process repeated 4 more times.

The third was a writhing mass of limbs attached randomly onto a snake-like body with a woman's crying face.

The fourth was a humanoid with a wolf's head. The rest of the body was naked and its 4 limbs ended in sharp barbs and blades.

The fifth had 3 identical heads that were covered in long silvery gray hair. On its back was 36 pairs of wings as dark as a moonless night.

And finally, the last abomination had the face of Du Ze. His figure was tall and muscular, and the 8 infant heads on his back spewed a baleful aura from their mouths. His 18 arms tore apart the corpse and sent out a shower of blood.

"Offer a heart," the man commanded.

His 2 subordinates made hand seals and an illusory collar appeared on the necks of the beasts. Then, the 6 simultaneously ripped apart their chests to reveal several beating hearts.

Whoosh!

""Roar!""

The man waved his hand and a heart was brutally ripped out of each of them before they sealed up their chests.

6 black hearts flew up the altar and the man stepped down.

Thump!

He kneeled and raised both hands into the air while chanting in some unknown language. Every word formed a sinister rune that flew towards each of the hearts. Each time a symbol entered the hearts, they glowed crimson and swelled.

His 2 subordinates backed away slightly and neared each other. They began conversing through voice transmissions.

'W-what do you think he's trying to do?'

The man glanced at the woman and snorted lightly, 'If you took some time to read through the ancient tomes, you'll know a bit'

The woman's aura fluctuated slightly as she gave the man a look filled with killing intent. While she was afraid of the pale faced man, that does not mean she was a pushover by any means.

'Tsk, you probably don't even know what White is planning anyways. Fucking retard'

'You!!'

'Enough!'

The duo flinched as the pale faced man looked over with glowing eyes, 'I'll have you 2 sacrificed to become supplements to the lord if anything happens'

The 2 immediately quieted down after hearing the threat.

Fwoom!

At this moment, a black flame bloomed from the altar and enveloped the 6 hearts. The hearts melted into a viscous liquid and formed the shape of a disk before falling onto the center altar.

Seeing this, the pale faced man signaled for the other 2 and began making a series of hand seals. The man and woman pressed their palms forward and sent a constant stream of qi towards their leader.

Weng!

A blood pillar rose and shot up into the mirror showing the full moon.

"Seal the Heavens and rule the Earth! May the world once more accommodate the Archaic Devils!"

Aboveground, every being that could see the sky looked up to see a blood red pillar pierce through the sky with unstoppable force.

"What is that?!"

The Xia Empire's experts looked up, as did all the sect leaders, elders, and disciples.

Sheng Tian looked up into the sky with a frown. He had a bad feeling about the red pillar that was steadily rising into the sky.

Then, thousands of miles away, a magnificent palace stood. Even with the night sky, the gold and jade that decorated the palace still shined with bright light.

Within the palace, an old emaciated man wearing a luxurious robe stood up from his throne with some difficulty. A man with 4 swords sheathed by his side quickly walked over to support the man outside.

The duo looked up at the red pillar as it hit the moon.

Weng!

A baleful aura spread out, dying the night sky a crimson red. The clouds turned purple and soon, the moon darkened momentarily before...

Bang!

A huge eye took the place of the moon. Its aura spread out to form a star with 4 points. It was the same as the symbol Sheng Tian had seen in the jade slip.

The huge eye twitched and looked around, before settling on the grand palace.

Not shying away, the old man stared back.

Soon, the red sky retraced and the eye closed, as did the red pillar. The old man stared at the now normal moon for a while before turning to the man next to him.
