The Nine-tailed Fox walks into a frozen village

They wake up early the next morning, and start packing their things into satchels. Several changes of winter robes and fur-lined cloaks, as well as thicker boots in case they have to thread through snow, now that the weather has become colder.

Since Lan Tian will be flying them towards their destinations, it falls on Wu Yun to carry everything.

He waddles out of the room like an overburdened donkey, his legs almost giving out under the combined weight of all the belonging they've managed to amass.

"Owning things is too troublesome. Life was easier when I was just a simple fox without anything," he says, his words breathless, when he can finally sit on the ground of the landing platform, and give his back a break.

Unbeknownst to him, Lan Tian was walking behind him and lifting most of the weight of the bulky satchels on his arms. He didn't say anything because Wu Yun's complaints amuse him.
