Wu Yun takes a moment to fully process Qiao Xiaojian's words. "Captured? Captured by whom?"

Qiao Xiaojian lets out a long-winded sigh. "You'll probably want to be comfortable, to hear about that. A lot has happened since we last saw each other."

He wheels himself towards the tent's opening and exchanges a few words with the soldier stationed outside.

He motions them to sit on the pillows around a low table in a corner of the tent, and then pushes himself off his chair to sit on the floor next to them.

Wu Yun doesn't succeed at hiding his surprise. "You can walk? Then why are you using a wheelchair?"

"With Wei Su's treatments my illness stabilized, but I can't walk or stand for too long without feeling shooting pains in my legs and lungs. Using the wheelchair is just more convenient," Qiao Xiaojian says, pouring them all tea.
