HEAVEN'S DESPAIR

The smell of car smoke permeated the air. Countless of individuals could be seen many storeys below, such a sight could easily be compared to the movement of ant colonies during winter when they search for a new nest. The noise from the individuals was overwhelmed by the loud sound of car honking. On one rooftop, there stood a grey-haired individual. "There’s no point in continuing this, I guess this is how I die. 40 years of being a victim to fate, it finally comes down to this. These Gods, these arrogant Gods- who expose men to these harsh realities. I swear if there is a next life, I will make these Gods kneel before me- I will get my revenge." The man's rage overwhelmed his rationality to the point where he began making odd statements. Suddenly the previous sound of cars Honking was replaced with the sound of blood gushing through his veins. Tears rolled down the man's face, "I'm sorry." Suddenly time froze as the man leaped over into the open air. It was almost as if he had finally obtained the heavens attention. The look on his face was that of a free man, a man who faced the cruellest realities life had to offer. One word comes to mind- Beautiful. This beauty, this feeling of warmth- If only it could last for ever. Very soon the man faced the same fate as Icarus *Splat** He was dead.

BIRTH

Darkness overwhelmed the individual, peace and tranquility were the only words that came to his mind.

* I guess this is what occurs after death, it feels as if I am floating in space and my five senses feel to be disabled *

There was no smell, no hearing, no sight, no sense of feeling neither was there a sense of taste. The man's only company was the voice in his head. As time went by, the man began to lose his sense of time and sanity. There was no feeling of hunger, tiredness or any of the feelings that affect humans on a daily basis- It was only the man and his thoughts.

* I wonder if I was the cause of my failure, was suicide really a wise option? Mum and Dad really wished for me to do well in life, they both died disappointed in me. I really wish that world was fair, why was it that some people were born with more resources than others- In school why did they bully me for being poor? it was not my fault. *

As the man lamented over his life, a thought crossed his mind.

* Why did she leave me for him? I had finally managed to get a job; life could only get better from that moment- but she decided to opt for someone who never experienced poverty nor working for anything in life. I guess there is no point in thinking about all this, I am dead now and can never go back. *

Time continued to pass, in what seemed to be an eternity. On one faithful moment within this eternity the man began thinking about the heaven and hell, reaching a conclusion that based on his experiences this far they did not exist- suddenly his thoughts were interrupted.

"Magnus Freeman for committing suicide, committing wrongful acts and waging war on the Gods at the time of death- I hereby send you to the Demonic ruins where you shall atone for your sins."

"What? Who is this? I don't understand?" The peace quickly turned into fear, not knowing who was it that just spoke.

Suddenly

"AHHHHHHHHHHH" the senses that were disabled suddenly seemed to have began working again. Pain overwhelmed Magnus as he felt what might be a called his phantom body constantly being exposed to an absurd amount of heat. This pain could not be compared to anything he had felt before if he could- he would have committed suicide a long time ago. He continued to scream until his previously dark visions began to slowly be replaced by light.

'waaaaaahhhhhhh" 'wahhhhhhhhhhhhh"

In a room within the demonic ruins there stood a lady with a baby in her hands. The lady had black hair, brown eyes and was very curvaceous- youthfulness emanated from her body.

"Jeez Martha I wonder what your baby did while on earth, he is crying abnormally. Fortunately, I came in time to help you with the labor, healers these days cannot be trusted."

Besides the woman standing up there laid a woman on a bed. The woman on the bed had piercing eyes with a black retina, her hair was black, and her skin was pale. Her body was that of an ordinary woman in her 20's.

"Thank you, Cecile, for everything."

Cecile than looked at Martha affectionately and said, "don't worry if his dad has abandoned him, you a strong woman and can raise him alone. I believe in you. Also don't forget the name that is given to you in your dream tonight- remember that it is vital that he maintains the name he had on earth"

"Yes, I will do so."

Suddenly their conversation was interrupted by the sound of giggles from the baby- and the sight of him suddenly falling asleep.

"Martha, I think your kid has a screw lose." With this comment both women burst out laughing with the baby.

As the darkness began to be replaced by light. Magnus began to realize that he is in a room.

* Where am I? *

He began to look around the room, it seemed to have broken windows, the walls had blood stains on them, the sound of rats crawling on the ceiling could be heard, lastly, he saw two women looking at him with the look of excitement.

* HAHAH is this the punishment? Being born again? Not too bad, I can finally fix what I did wrong the last time and hopefully become successful this time around. *

Suddenly a thought crossed his mind.

* Wait, what if? What if? There's no way this is happening to me. YESS!! Just like all the web novels I read on earth- I have been reincarnated to another world, I am destined to be OP and have my own harem. I apologize to the Gods for my rudeness before. *

While thanking the Gods, he realised both women uncontrollably laughing- It's a pity he could not understand what they were saying.

* Wow this world this world is so cheerful. Damn I'm so tired I need to sleep. *

The next day

Magnus slowly opened his eyes and inhaled deeply. He recognised that he was in a small room laying on the floor within his mother's warm tender hands.

'So your name is Magnus, my little handsome." Martha slowly lifted Magnus up brushing her warm cheeks which were as red as roses against his.

"Grow up to be strong and smart- just like your mum." The childish sounding giggles of Martha filled the room, causing young Magnus to join her.

.............................................…

Many years went by, Magnus lived with his mother in a one room house build from a mud-like substance. Within this one room, there included a bed, toilet, shower, and a fireplace to keep warm and make food. Magnus learned the language spoken by his mother at the normal rate which usually takes babies to pick up a language. This was mainly due to his brain's capacity only being that of a child, as a result there was a limit to the amount of learning he could do. Once he learned to read, his mom gave him a copy of the "Grimoire Luke." This book was often given to children within the demonic realm, thereafter they would follow it religiously as a guide throughout life. Nothing about this book excited Magnus, he found it too boring. However, the book however answered many of his questions about the world. This world consisted of multiple islands with geographical climates that contrasted with each other. The book explained that this world was the afterlife and was split into many factions. The four main ones being the demonic, holy, vamps the shadow factions. The book stated that the world consisted mainly of three groups of individuals, namely those who could use abilities, the second being Gods and lastly normal humans. Each year towards the latter half of the year, groups of children who just turned 12 would be examined to see if they have a strong affinity towards using these abilities. This practice existed in all the factions across the world. The book also stated that the place where an individual is born, and his affinity is determined by how they lived their lives on earth. People in the holy faction lived righteous lives, these individuals only made minor sins during their lives. Those in the vampire and shadow faction are those who committed major sins, such as killing other individuals. Lastly those who were in the demonic faction are mostly those who questioned the Gods either through deliberate action, intention or verbally. Naturally the shadow and vampire factions were far greater in size then both the holy and demonic factions. However, being greater in size did nothing for their power, power was distributed almost equally. The book made no mention of how the level of affinity is determined, leaving Magnus confused. Travelling between factions were allowed but not advisable. Lastly the book cautioned that individuals would look exactly as they did in their previous lives so to be on guard if they had any enemies. Furthermore the book stated that even though this was the afterlife, it was the final stop and death would be permanent.

Magnus spend his entire childhood around Martha. He has yet to see another human being besides his mother. Each day he would go into the woods and hunt food with his mother- life was not perfect, but it was happy even though he has never met his father. Soon Magnus turned 12 and it was time for him to go for the examination to test his affinity to demonic energy.
