Behind The Bars
A young, tall, wide man is seen sitting quietly through the old iron bars, confined all alone in one of the deadly dark cells of an underground prison. His face is covered with his hands and his back has been turned forward to the front. He seems as if he is sunk in the deep seas of thoughts and memories. His hand-covered face is soaked with the tears which are departing instantaneously from his chin. A policeman is sitting out of his cell as if he is performing his duty. Meanwhile, a few, swift footfalls are heard clearly in the entirely silent prison which indicate that another policeman has stepped down then a whisper in the ears of the other one is realized by the prisoner, subsequently, the footsteps indicating his departure are produced too. The police-man guarding the prison unlocks the lock-up and keeps standing aside with silence. Saim's low, soft quavering voice just touches the prisoner's ear who is calling, "Tiger!"
This leads him to raise up his head and turn around revealing his soaked face and wet hands while staring at them with his bloodshot eyes. As soon as they perceive his face, all three of his friends, standing near him, kneel down and keep sitting on their feet until he turns to them and . hugs them tightly.
"Do you have any idea about what has happened to me? She went away!! She left me!! She betrayed me!!" Tiger's quavering voice along with deep sighs just touches the depth of their hearts and leaves them entirely thrilled. All three of them are exhibiting downhearted and despondent expressions for him.
"But what happened bro? How could the scene be entirely flipped?" Asks Smartie, one of his friends.
"Yes, my love, please let us know, what has happened?" Sunnie insists on him.
Tiger suddenly retorts with an expectable question which astonishes all three of them, "I want to meet Tim and I want to meet him right now. Please call him to meet me anyhow."
All three of his friends begin glancing at one another with mixed expressions of blissful delight and absolute amazement.
"We thought that you didn't like to meet him but he really wanted to see you. He still loves you the same as he did before. That's why we took him with us because he just wanted to see you from a distance."
Tim, who is still sitting unseen at a minor distance away from them almost out of the cell, and is hearing everything yet, moves forward by cycling his wheelchair with the help of his hands as soon as he hears Tiger's request of meeting him, he becomes too delighted and his despondent expressions fades away into his tears and a slight twinkle appears revealing his merrily emotions and contented flash of feelings. He cycles the handle of his wheelchair too abruptly and moves closer to them as fast as he can, disclosing his eagerness to meet Tiger after a couple of years, who is one of his best friends ever, one of the chambers of his heart, without wasting a single second. Perceiving his swift speed and realizing his keenness and enthusiasm for Tiger, Sunnie promptly runs to him and hurriedly pushes the wheelchair close to Tiger. The rest of the friends are greatly astonished and become content to see them united after a pretty long time and they keep staring at both of them with tears of joy in their eyes.
"I can't explain the level of my happiness!" Tim lets out a calm statement within a low voice while moving closer to him with open arms and a relaxing smile.
Moving forward, Tiger kneels down on his knees and hugs him tightly with the warmth of his love and admiration for him. They let a few minutes pass smoothly with silence. Deep sighs of both of these friends and little sounds of manly weeping are the only sounds flashing up the entire cell.
"Do you know what, my love? I was getting better day by day but one of my five fingers was still missing and hence my pain was not decreasing even a single inch. I got it! I got that finger today! I got you back, man! I love you so much! You were right that friends are the chambers of our heart. My heartache has vanished finally after I got its fourth chamber today! " Tim speaks in a low quavering voice while enjoying the warmth of his love with every single cell of his body.
"I love you more than myself! I love you more than how much you love me." Tiger retorts while sobbing deep and tightening his firmness over his friend's hug.
"I have never seen a Tiger crying!" Sunnie interrupts them.
After a few minutes of silence has passed smoothly, Tim adds "Tiger! My sixth sense is saying that someone has left you whom you might have begun loving a lot and you know that he or she liked you too. But that one guy is punishing you not knowing that you did nothing wrong! That is called misunderstanding!"
Listening to him with great focus and concentration, Tiger abruptly supports his statement with a swift, brief but continuous nod while adding further to his statement, "Yes! That is definitely true! But how did you figure that out?"
"Your soaked face with darkened eye circles, revealing that your heart has broken and the Tiger has wounded, helped me a little bit but more chiefly my experience led me to reach the truth straight away! Once upon a time, there was a friend who left me whom I loved a lot and I knew that he loved me too but he punished me not knowing that I did nothing wrong!" Tim indirectly explains his own old story about Tiger's departure from his own life.
Saim, Smartie, and Sunnie promptly realize that Tim is recalling the past about Tiger's misunderstanding but they keep quiet and keep listening to him concentratedly while instantaneously glancing at Tiger, expecting a good response from him.
"Hey! I was not punishing you and actually I could never! It was an absolute misfortune which entirely flipped the card of my life. It was a dark time with no light anywhere. I was unable to realize the difference between the devils and the angels. I was actually penalizing myself for such a big misunderstanding I had. I didn't have enough courage to look into your eyes!"
"Actually you were mad! I was still your friend but you didn't remember that. Leave recalling the past anymore as it is entirely useless to bring out the dead stones from the mud and tell me who that person is who led you to weep with tears?"
"She … She is a girl … and her name is Robin!" Tiger retorts in a quavering voice.
"What?" Sunnie and Saim exclaims astoundedly within one voice with their eyes stretched widened revealing their amazement.
"I can't really believe this dreadful news!" Sunnie speaks in a weird accent along with expressing his anger in his facial expressions.
Tiger explains the entire story to them while ending with a short emotional statement at last,
"She was the one for whom I changed my mind and decided to save! But when the time to tell her arrived, everything spoiled and … and … I don't know what happened next … and how did it happen?"
"If she seriously believed in you and was really innocent, she would definitely come back!" Tim retorts solemnly with a slight pleasant smirk over his lips.
"But she will be late!" Saim adds in a low voice.
"Who that ruthless girl is? I absolutely don't care about her who led our Tiger weep! Who broke his heart instead of caring for his precious time and emotions. We are going to lose our friend forever only because of that girl! He has never been caught yet and now he is behind the bars just for the reason that he helped her! I can't believe it! He did nothing!"
"Smartie! Please calm down and shake your anger away!" Tim instructs Smartie.
Sunnie speaks worriedly with his eyebrows arched aligned, trying to explain his friend's crucial position, "But Tim! Take a brief survey of the situation. First time in our life, Tiger has been arrested even though he has not attempted any illegal act this time like nothing and he is going to …"
Smartie adds in a very slow voice while letting tears drop from his eyes, "To die! … for no reason! If the death sentence would be announced for him!"
"I am not worried about death! You guys know very well that I am not afraid of death! But … the problem is … I can't believe that she betrayed me! She was too innocent, she trusted me a lot, I don't know even if she has been told the truth and the reality or not, she knew that I was with her but …" Tiger readily retorts them all with an explained view of his thoughts.
"But man you said that she was injured with a gunshot and even she stopped there with you at last and Ritcher was also shot by you so who is the third person present there except you both, it is entirely confusing, I mean …" Saim tries to speak in order to clear the multiple tangled frames of mind.
"Stop talking about that selfish girl! I don't want to hear anything anymore about her and you Mr Heartless, what has happened to you that you don't even care for your own life even after meeting Tim too and you are worried for that wicked girl. I am telling everyone that If I lose my lovely, kind, brave friend, I will not let that wicked girl live anymore too!" Smartie shouts while crushing his teeth and suppressing his loud voice.
"Shut up, Smartie! Don't be so hot-headed! Have patience! After all, this is not Las Vegas where you can kill anybody, anywhere! And that girl might be innocent, perhaps she has not fired the case against him." Tim keeps trying to sort out the case with patience and maturity as he is the most sensible in all.
At the same time, a policeman approaches them and asks them to leave the cell as the time they requested to meet him is over. Upon his arrival, they are forced to leave their valiant but broken friend all alone in the dark cell unwantedly. They hug him warmly with open arms one after the other, wish him well and leave with the commitment to arrive again and to take him away from behind bars.
He keeps his head raised up and keeps staring at the dark stairs, hearing the unseen footsteps of his departing friends. After they are gone, the policeman locks him behind the bars once again and stands back at his confined position. Tiger turns his valiant but temporarily bloodshot eyes at him. Even though he is tagged as a prisoner and is kept behind bars, his personality and his actions still possess the same wrath and valiance, the same terror and dread. He suddenly addresses the policeman who is on duty, an unexpected question with his head tilted and his hands bound, "Hey, you! Why do you want to kill me? Even I saved someone! I stopped a mafia group from killing her."
"You committed a crime by kidnapping an innocent girl and taking her away from his home town too. You will surely be punished as soon as we get enough evidence against you!" Retorts the policeman in an angry and straight forward accent.
"Oh! So didn't you get the evidence yet?" He asks valiantly with a mild mirthless smirk over his lips.
"How can we get them so fast? Everything was burnt and there were multiple cars that arrived and departed before our arrival. The girl was taken away and she was saved. Just as her car was gone out of the stadium then perhaps another car might have also gone before we approached , perhaps the true criminal. After all, your identity is found as an innocent citizen with no crime history. You might have fled too but you were yourself found unconscious. Don't worry man, we will get enough evidence against you soon, if you have committed the crime truly."
Tiger takes his eyes away from him and passes an ironic smile then says, "I saved her! Because I wanted to save her! Robin! I wanted to spend more and more time with you! I was not wrong this time and I believe what is right is never considered wrong! Hahhh!" He lowers his head with a deep sigh!
