ok y'all I am not going to lie.. this book is becoming my guilty pleasure.. Out of all the other books I'm reading this one I look forward to it probably the most.. The author does an excellent job! The world is beautifully decribed so it is easily picture & the characters seem real.. It's of course not perfect but y'all it's a great story! The more I read the more I am hooked.. This story is definitely worth the chance!
This novel is an absolute gem. Reading experience is the same as watching one of most visually stunning movies (for example House Of Flying Daggers). Writing style is poetic and perfect for historic romance, world building is solid and characters' development is clear. Add to your library now and lets root for FL together!
Hi, there reader. I am the author of this story. Please know this is not me shamelessly reviewing my own novel. I am not hunting for "stars", I am interested in grabbing your attention. Let's be honest, when clicking on a story the first thing one reads is the title and the description - not much for me to say there that is not strictly related to the story. The next thing the reader will go for are the reviews - and here you are now. When you start to read this you may find my writing style to linger too much on descriptions. I know that is a 'No-no' when it comes to tricks on how to lure in the readers. But F. that. I like to use descriptions in my story only at certain points to set the mood - like in the old movies when the camera pans down in the first scene to set the tone for what's to come. If you are patient and willing to go beyond that you might find the honey pot. That is what I hope for anyway. As a reader, I enjoy various genres but as a storyteller, I find myself unapologetically trapped in the romantic style. My characters are cleary flashed out with romantic traits, I like to use symbolism and so set the reader on a path he thinks he already predicted. Then I like to add a twist here and there and leave a lot of the storyline surrounded in mystery. That is what my intent was at least. If my intend transpired or not in my writing you can be the judge of that. Thank you for your attention and I hope you find a lot of new good reads.
Oh man, I just love your world background. The details are complete and down to specific details that it opens my eyes to see the world back in the war days. Dude, I hate history, but your book just introduces it so nicely that I think history is not as awful as I thought. You induce me to read more. And that's a good job right there author! Keep up the good work.
That was one of my most controversial reading experiences so far. I experienced anger, disappointment, sympathy and joy while the story was unfolding. It crossed my mind to drop the book on several occasions, however the same character's actions that irked me, managed to portray a realistic image of the characters. Before I realized it I was hooked on the book. The author's vivid scenery descriptions complimented the characters, their actions and their emotional state in a way I seldom saw and enjoyed from beginning to end. Thank you author! I'm eagerly expecting your new work.
I am new on webnovel and from the few novels I skipped thru i did not expect this - a totally different tone with an unique and realistic plot. the story feels comprised of 2 parts one where you are introduced to the characters and see episodes of their childhood and another one with more action that happens in the story's present time - i personally find this second part more more interesting so I am waiting for updates :))
This is an ongoing story and I must say - it is such a lovely story - I do not know yet how it is going to end, but I feel the first chapters are the loveliest in the manner that they build the characters and set up the background for the story. Right now I do not understand why the rating if for 18 and over. Not a lot of smut -maybe for the upcoming chapters?
