CHAPTER SEVEN (SAMUEL)

I opened my eyes, I could still hear the loud music but I was on my bed sweating and I wasn't the younger me in that garden or with my mom and friends. Sadly I realized "It was just a dream. All of that was a long dream, I can't believe it. It felt so real." Well it is real, a realistic dream because this was what happened to us several years ago, that time was when my dad abadoned us, he simply disappeared without any goodbyes.

I looked around me, there wasn't anyone around. I started getting angry "Who are those damn people playing music at my window. Are they mad or something? Let me check who they are. I will teach them some manners."

I got down from bed. Tied the rope of my night gown, wore my slippers and went outside.

"Thank you very much for coming to my house warming party, I really appreciate." Said a black, pointed noise, curly thick black afro hair, big deep black eyes young man.

He continued speaking. "Do you all know how hard it was for me to crack that deal and get such a big and fancy looking house. But because I be brain box, nayin I come get all this wonderful things and also thanks to Mr Charles Eze the Managing director of the company who is also my dad's childhood friend."

"You are so lucky bro." Said one of his friends to him.

I went to the place where the music was coming from, I saw five guys drinking and talking at the top of their lungs because of how loud the music was playing.

I went over to them and switched off the music. One of them shouted "heyssssss, who be you? Why did you off our music?"

I looked at him with so much anger burning in me and said "You are mad for asking me such a useless question. Don't you know that this is an estate? And for your information, that nonsense you called music woke me up from my sleep."

He laughed and said "Shuuuu."

I was irritated by his expression. "You are suppose to reduce the volume of your speaker because this is an estate and only sensible, responsible, high class working people live here."

One of them said to me. "So you think we are not high class. Madam you better respect yourself because I won't take any nonsense from you. Who you be sef?"

"Guys I think she is looking for handsome guys to ask her out. Make una no worry, let me handle her."

He got up, moved a little bit closer to me and said. "Miss lecturer, let me introduce myself to you since you don't know who I am. I am Samuel Adeola but you can call me Sam, I am a business man and also the owner of this beautiful house. This is my apartment, therefore I can do whatever I want. If you have a problem with that then please go and die. if you are looking for someone to spend money on you, just ask and stop pretending like you are some goddess that we should kneel down and beg you before we can have fun. Please do get out of here before I ask my guys to disgrace you in ways that you won't be able to explain."

I really wanted to insult him but because I was scared of what they could do to harm me, I quietly stepped away.

"Make dem no come beat my life commot, what will I say I was looking for among tall grown-up guys."

Everyday with Sam became hell for me. He always made sure to taunt me and it baffles me because I don't know what his problem is with me.

One morning, I woke up early and went for my morning run putting on a white track suit with my hair tied in a knot.

An hour later I got back home, went straight to the fridge and got myself a very chill bottled water, after drinking the water I felt relaxed. I took off my canvas and went into the kitchen to make myself a light breakfast and hurriedly ate it in the kitchen.

I was in a hurry because of the wedding of my colleague from work that was taking place that morning at Cash up hall on Ladoke Akintola street GRA ikeja Lagos at 8:00am, it was already 7:20 and I must get there at least 10minutes after eight or 8o'clock dot.

I went to the bathroom, took a quick bath then went to my wardrobe to pick up the gown I recently collected from Simbi my tailor, Miss talkative and broadcaster of every latest gossip.

She gossips so much that the entire people from her neighborhood knew her for being a nosy person, her husband grew tired of her behavior and ended the relationship between them, he divorced her.

To my surprise I couldn't find the gown "Oh my God, where could I have left it. I am always so forgetful, God help me I just have to find this gown. How will I be able to get another one before 8? I will get late if I don't find it soon. I swear to you God that I will not be careless with my things anymore."

I looked for it everywhere and still i couldn't find it, I was getting really furstrated now. After some time I remembered that I did not check one last place and that was the laundry room.
