-DUKE RESIDENCE-
In the evening
'Ugh... I don't have the energy anymore. I am so tired and exhausted from walking the entire day,' Cathlen,
"Fuck! Why is it so hard to climb up into this terrace?" Cathlen complains and curses while having a hard time climbing up into her terrace room.
"Here, miss, grab my hand," Angela extends her hand for Cathlen,
"How come…" Cathlen surprised seeing Angela already done climbing up,
"Oh, there's a ladder," Angela mentions,
"Ladder?" Cathlen question,
"Yes, miss, there's a ladder at that side," Angela pointed at the left side of the terrace, and Cathlen looks over to it and saw a wooden ladder.
"A wood ladder," Cathlen mention.
"Yes, you were the one who put it there," Angela answer, and Cathlen felt like an idiot.
"How come you never told me about it earlier?" She nag,
"I did, but you never listen,"
"You did?"
"Yes,"
'But I never heard... Ahh, I'm spacing out earlier,'
"Come on, grabbed my hand, miss,"
"Okay," Cathlen answer and grabbed Angela's right hand to pull her up to the terrace, but a sudden voice interrupt them both.
"Cathlen?" A woman's voice called at her as they look over to where it was located and saw her mother, the duchess.
"Mother?" Cathlen, surprised and nervous.
"Where have you been! Your father and I got worried and sick because you were not inside our mansion," Duchess nag at her daughter. Cathlen is now standing in front of her,
"Uh... Hahaha," The only words that cathlen can blurt out.
"I thought you were sick!" Duchess continues nagging at her daughter.
"Uh... I'm sorry, mother, I was pretending," She confesses,
"Pretending?"
"Yes,"
"But why?" Duchess asks,
"Because I want to visit the town today and have some time with myself alone. But Angela insisted, to come, so I take her with me," She mention lying to her mother,
"But why you didn't take permission to us?" Duchess asks,
"Because Angela told me you were busy talking to Prince Adam," She reasoned,
"I did?" Angela asks, confuse. Cathlen pinches her back and signals her to follow along with her.
"Uh, yes I did. Je," Angela answers, and Duchess Aerwen felt something weird, but she brushes it off and continues nagging at her daughter.
"But you could have come inside the visitor room to ask permission from us,"
"Mother, if I do that the prince, will know that I am only pretending to be sick,"
"Oh,"
"Yes, where's, father?" Cathlen ask, changing the mood and the topic,
"Oh, he... wait, we need to inform your father that you already at home," Duchess mention,
"Wait, they're searching for me?" Cathlen ask, shocked,
"Yes, I told you were worried and sick because of you,"
"I... uh,"
"Come on, follow me to the guard quarter,"
"Okay,"
-GUARD QUARTER-
"Sir, Fiero," Duchess Aerwen call, entering the guard quarter,
"Duchess, greetings," Sir Fiero, captain of the guard in Duke's residence. He's been serving the Duke for almost twenty years now.
"Yes, where is the Duke now?" Duchess asks,
"They're still searching for the princes," Captain Fiero answer,
"They do?" Cathlen snuck out into her mother's shadow, and Captain Fiero got surprised,
"Miss, Cathlen?"
"Uh, yes. Hello..." Cathlen mention waving hi to him,
"Send one guard to deliver a message that our daughter has already home," Duchess Aerwen instruct,
"Right away, duchess," Captain Fiero respond and leave the room in hastening.
"Mother, I'm sorry again," Cathlen apologies while they walk out to the servant quarter with Angela tailing them. Duchess Aerwen deep sigh,
"Is okay, don't do it again, understand?" Duchess Aerwen accept her apologies,
"Yes, mother, thank you," Cathlen sigh in relief and hug her mother,
To be continued.
