He Cried Wolf

He's in love with a werewolf, what could go wrong? Kyla Odin is a werewolf who became one, not by choice. Her parents were killed by the one who changed her. Albert Torino is a normal human superstar police officer, loved by all--especially the women for his good looks, gutsiness, and resilience in the police force. When bodies with animal bites and gunshot wounds start turning up in Glasgow Creek, Albert is called to investigate the murders. He meets Kyla, and his 99% accurate instinct tells him to be wary of her, but his throbbing libido has other plans of its own. Her alluring beauty entraps him into her world of secrets, danger, and lies. There's a killer on the loose. There's a growing sexual tension between them, and there's also the little issue of her shape-shifting abilities. ******* This is a work of fiction. One twenty nine

Maryann stirred to the sound of Katie setting a glass of water on her bedside table.

"Figured you'd want that."

"Thank you," she croaked, the dull ache at her temples an instant reminder of last night's whiskey marathon and the events following. She jerked up quickly and rushed to the mirror to observe her neck.

"What's going on?" Katie inquired with a slightly raised brow.

Fleeting seconds of inspection passed before Maryann finally sighed with relief. "Bad dream," she said, returning to bed. "No, it was a nightmare actually. What time is it?"

"Just after nine."

She groaned. "I need to check on Bobby. You should go back to sleep."

"I wish. You know how I am."

"Yeah. Insane." In all the years Maryann had lived with Katie, she'd never known her to sleep in, no matter how late she goes to bed or how much she's had to drink.
