Birds squawked in fright and took off as a black wolf tumbled through, snagging branches, pebbles, and any other loose debris as he crashed down the small hill.

The wolf, who had been plunged by Kyla's angry wolf, Layla, collided into a larger tree at the bottom, stopping abruptly when the big part of nature refused to let the wolf break it. 

The sound of more paws fiercely gunning for her, mingled with the distant wail of sirens that she had been following. She got to the now-injured black wolf and passed it, without giving it another glance.
