"Are you feeling much better?" His warm breath heated the shell of Kyla's ear.

A muted grin stretched her mouth. She nodded.

"Thanks for coming...Err," she pulled away from him. "Do you want something to drink?"

His fingers grazed his throat. "I'm a little patched." 

"I'll get you something." she got off him and headed for the kitchen, smiling when she sensed him following behind. "Alcohol? Coffee? Juice? Milk?"

"Whiskey would be just fine."

"Whiskey it is." 

She poured them both a glass of whiskey and they remained standing around the kitchen table. 

"So, how does this work?" he asked.

"How does what work?"
