Ninety-two

"We're meeting at the pack hall in an hour," Kyla said. "Inform the others."

The six wolves nodded and headed in the opposite direction, leaving her with their Alpha.

Delano had sunk into a couch in the pack's front room, head in his hands.

"You need some rest--"

The front door opened suddenly and a middle-aged woman ran through. "Alpha! Alpha!" She screamed, running towards Delano. "I heard you've returned. Did you find her? Where is my daughter?"

Delano got to his feet, looking a tad bit dejected. "We found her, Mrs. Mary. We know where they are keeping her and I promise--"

"No!" The woman's head shook vigorously. "No more promises! Results. You said you'll get her back. You promised. Now you say you found the hideout but I don't see my daughter."

"Mrs. Mary--"

"I'm a widow, Alpha!" She screamed. "Camille is all I have."
