Hazel in the Demon's Den

“I’ll marry anyone who will take me!” Hazel declared loudly. “I don’t need love!” “Get down!” Will hissed. “You don’t know what kind of people are lurking around in here! Talking like that might get you killed!” == Hazel Dixon thought she was putting her troubled past behind her. But when the person she thought she trusted most betrays her, she loses her head and proposes to an entire bar full of strangers. Enter Will Sheffield, a charming stranger who decides to take her up on her offer to save her from herself. He spoils her rotten without expecting anything in return and Hazel's confusion only grows. She doesn't know why he is acting this way. Or why he reminds her so much of the 'dangerous' childhood friend she thought was gone forever... *Cover art by polkadottedscrunchie*

She Had To Pull Herself Together

Hazel made her way down the mountain as carefully as she could considering how distracted she was. There was no way. Maybe her period hadn't come because of stress. Or because it was irregular anyway and the pills had stopped fixing the problem.

She had been taking them for years now; she may have developed a tolerance for them and now her period schedule was back to what it had been before. But there was no denying pregnancy was feasible because of how often she and Will…

No. She couldn't think about what that would mean right now. This was nothing more than a precaution.

Hazel bought a multipack of pregnancy tests and some gourmet salted caramel flavored hot chocolate to help calm her nerves and headed back to the cabin. While waiting through the torturously long three minutes of anxiety for the sticks to show results, she focused on drinking her hot chocolate.

It was delicious but wasn't a sufficient distraction. She was totally freaking out.
