“I’ll marry anyone who will take me!” Hazel declared loudly. “I don’t need love!” “Get down!” Will hissed. “You don’t know what kind of people are lurking around in here! But when the person she thought she trusted most betrays her, she loses her head and proposes to an entire bar full of strangers. Enter Will Sheffield, a charming stranger who decides to take her up on her offer to save her from herself. He spoils her rotten without expecting anything in return and Hazel's confusion only grows. I Have No Reason To

Will didn't know what he was supposed to do about his wife. He had done everything she asked of him and more and yet after three months she was still keeping him at a distance.

Her emotions leaked out more often now than they used to—according to the book he read it was likely pregnancy hormones at work—but she still didn't trust him. That much was obvious.

Hazel's exhaustion hung around her like a cloud but instead of holding it all in like before it would burst out occasionally, like earlier when she blamed him for her grievances and said she hated him. It wasn't the first time she broke down and said something like that but it stung all the same. He calmed himself with the reminder that it was just hormones and if she truly hated him, she wouldn't be here whenever it happened.

She was always apologetic afterward. There were two types of Sorry Hazel: teary and tired. Will honestly wasn't sure which was worse.
