chapter 19: Outlaws

In the world of Gaea, otherwise know as the world where Laurens live in. There exists mutants and non-mutants(humans), majority of the population obviously is covered by humans. However, with scientific evolution and time, some humans began to manifest strange and unknown powers, these people are called mutants.

Currently the world is hiding the fact that mutants exist as to avoid the risk of mass panic, and in order to deal with this new evolution, the government has a secret division dealing with mutant related problems.

This division is called, "Outlaws" because as the name suggests, it is comprised of outlaws.

It's Tuesday and the Hazard Academy bell rang six times due to the incoming guests that the school board is expecting. These guests are outlaws sent by the government to do a monthly check up on the school.

"Welcome to our humble Academy" Jonathan greeted.

There were three people in the room, one was a young female swordswoman, another was young adult man with strong leather gloves and finally their chief. A woman with a strong aura that seem to put heavy weight on everyone standing.

They all had a look of seriousness on their faces, it was clear that they were only there for business purposes and nothing else, unlike Jonathan who had a goofy smile and wearing a vacation shirt. He did NOT look like a prestigious principal.

"Let me be frank, our mission is to make sure that none of your students are going wild and killing people. This is to ensure the safety level of 'that' event, so why are you stalling for time?" Asked the serious woman with an overwhelming aura.

"Ms. Evans, I assure you that our students are definitely not 'killing' people. And I only wanted to let you taste our signature dessert before we go on with the tour" Jonathan replied handsomely.

The woman glared at Jonathan before taking a bite on the dessert placed in front of her. Unexpectedly, the cake was quiet delectable and poison free, they had a delightful time eating it. Much to the relief of Jonathan who was praying for his son to arrive.

Meanwhile....

"Come on Jace, you'll be dying with me" said the dark haired boy as he grabbed the fake blonde by the collar and dragged him out of the room.

Laurens who was forced to guide the outlaws knew that they were dangerous people, so instead of guiding them alone and possibly dying by himself. He remembered that he had a best friend, and what's the point of life if not dying with someone you love? or was it 'for' someone you love? He couldn't remember.

On the way, Laurens explained the situation to Jace. Unexpectedly, Jace agreed to cooperate with him in exchange for one favor. Although the fake blonde didn't mention what the favor was all about, Laurens agreed blindly. He would never expect that the favor would cause him an inconvenience that would haunt him for the rest of his life in the future.

Upon arriving to Jonathan's office, Laurens stopped and dusted off his uniform as well as Jace's. He adjusted his tie and buttoned up his blazer. Laurens tidied himself up by combing back his long fringe, showing off his multi-colored eyes to the light of day.

Jace looked at Laurens as if he just saw an elf (but not in a scary way) The guy just freaking transformed by combing his hair back? Was he really this handsome? The glittering gem-like pupils of his partner was like a sapphire and an amethyst, both were incredibly captivating.

"You're Laurens?" The fake blonde couldn't help but ask.

"No Jace, I'm your father" Laurens sarcastically answered while giving Jace an "isn't it obvious?" look.

"Okay... I still can't process this but whatever, let's go die together!" Jace exclaimed as he pushed the two doors leading to the principal's private dining room.

As the two oak tree doors opened, a heavy atmosphere immediately engulfed them. There was a fiery woman sitting across Jonathan, and beside her were two people. One was a young woman carrying a sword and the other was an adult man wearing an apparent fighting gloves.

The two boys meticulously observed all three of them as they made their way to Jonathan's chair. The principal who saw them coming had a bright joyful smile on his face, however, with the heavy atmosphere, that smile didn't last long.

"Boys! I have been waiting for you, come! Sit down and drink some honey iced tea" Jonathan convinced.

The boys, though having some doubts, still sat down and drank the tea served to them. Still, they never stopped observing the three guests. It was a bad habit of theirs as the teachers in school use some cruel methods to get their students' attention, so the kids had to observe their teacher to see if they were carrying any weapons everytime they enter.

"Ms. Evens, these two students are the most responsible kids in the school. They will be guiding you around the campus today. Although I can't guide you myself due to my disability, I hope these children can show you how 'wonderful' our school is" Jonathan emphasized the word "wonderful" to give the boys a clue.

Laurens got what he was saying and showed off his bright smile. Jace, however was bewildered, Jonathan had a disability?!when did that happen? The last time he saw the old man was when he showed off to the kids that he can survive a fall from a 10 story building, he didn't even crack a bone on that one. Was the old man bluffing again?

Nonetheless, the guests were still willing to trouble the children to guide them around the school, but that's the problem...

Unbeknownst to the guests, Hazard Academy is not just your average boarding school, it's called "Hazard" for a reason and it's not because the Island is called Hazard Island.

However, this was a challenge and if there's one thing that Hazard Academy students have in common, it's that they never back down from a challenge!
