Ken Doll Mode

My eyes grew heavy as I lay nestled inside a thick duvet.

Hamu's reply took far longer than expected. So long in fact, that I fell asleep while waiting for her reply.

She shook me awake at the crack of dawn.

"I don't care if its a fire," I moaned. "Just let me sleep."

"Get up you useless bum! You're going to make us late for school!"

Hamu kept tugging my arm until I fell of the side of my bed and smacked my head on the carpeted floor.

"Okay, Okay. I'm awake."

She held up a plate of sausages, a glass of milk and a few cupcakes. Before I could resist she started stuffing food into my mouth.

I chewed rapidly and listened to her energetic rambling, "Aren't you lucky? How many guys can say they've woken up to find a beautiful woman feeding them by hand?"

She said those things as she forcefully stuffed a large sausage into my mouth.

After clearing my plate I chugged the glass of milk and ended my morning meal with a loud burp.

Without missing a beat she handed me a toothbrush with a finger-nail-sized amount of toothpaste lathered on.

She reached out to touch my clothes while I ferociously brushed my teeth.

My sweater and sweatpants appeared to disintegrate for a moment, and fell away from my skin. As she tossed them aside, they instantly rematerialized.

While she could easily take off any article of clothing, putting them on by force was a delicate affair that required too much concentration on her part.

So, she pulled me to the bathroom where I rinsed out my teeth. Not long after she dragged me back to face a full-sized mirror. I soon found myself wearing a collared shirt, a striped, green tie, a loose-fitting slacks and a pair of what looked like nurses' shoes.

When she brought out a stuffy blazer emblazoned with the school's logo, which was a long torch lighting a globe with rays of wisdom, I held up a defiant hand.

Refusing to take no for an answer, we wrestled for a bit until I finally gave in.

I didn't even get a chance to wish my mom a good day, as she had unsurprisingly slept in.

Yesterday's early morning breakfast attempt was apparently a one time thing.

When we were finally out of the house, I absorbed the stillness of the cool morning air.

A few middle-schoolers took the same path as we did, but no one around our age joined us.

I still felt more than a little groggy, but even with my eyes half-closed I couldn't help but appreciate how cute Hamu looked in our school uniform.

The skirt she wore was separated into folds of dark green and black. She wore a blazer too, but had opted for a neat bow tie instead of the usual, dull affair.

Her hair was soaked in the golden glow of the morning sun. It was normally pure white, but unlike real hair, it seemed to absorb light rather than reflect it, and could therefore appear pitch-black at night or as yellow as a sunflower under the right conditions, as it did now.

Her eyes had the same characteristics. At the moment, they were like a pair of golden orbs, glowing with excited amusement.

"Hey, are you listening to me?" She asked.

"Hmm? Yeah, of course."

"Then what did I just say?"

"You were talking about how boring school is and how I should consider myself incredibly lucky for having you around to spice up my droll life."

She gave me a cheeky smile, "Actually, I wanted to know whether you knew which class you were assigned to."

"Close enough." I joked. "But just in case you were wondering, I do feel really lucky to have you with me."
