"Daisy," she muttered, her voice barely audible.
She stared at their dog for a few more seconds, her mind lost in thought.
"Actually, Renee," Adrienne interjected, stopping Renee in her tracks.
Renee turned to face her, raising an eyebrow in curiosity. "Yes?"
"I think I'll come in for a drink. I am so thirsty right now," Adrienne fibbed, attempting to change the subject.
Renee smiled, not catching on to Adrienne's little white lie.
"Oh, really? That's great. Guess you'll just use this as an opportunity to meet my mom and dad, your potential future father-in-law and mother-in-law," Renee teased, nudging Adrienne playfully.
With a sigh, Adrienne shook her head. "I told you I and your brother aren't dating. We are just friends, for real," she clarified, trying to set the record straight.
