No funny business

She sat quietly as she dropped her bag on the floor

Liam went over to his seat

"This is my office" and she blinked

"The person meant to take you in the interview isn't around at the moment"

"It happened that he had an issue to deal with and The CEO too had to join him" Lily felt devastated

"So i decided to take you through" and she looked at him.

"You had submitted your credentials"

she nodded and he brought out his phone and made a call. In less than a minute the door opened and a lady walked in with a file in her hand. She handed it over to liam who took it and dismissed the woman. Lily felt her heart beat ferociously as liam went through her files.

After a while he dropped them on his desk as he gazed at her lily felt cold chills running down her spine she couldn't believe that the funny young man she had just met had turned into a scary bear in a minute. She swallowed hard as she braced her self for whatever would happen. He began to question her and to his surprise lily answered him back without batting an eye even tho deep down she was fidgeting

"So what does this company stand to gain if we are to employ you"

Lily fell silent for a while but confidently answered him back

He was astonished by her answer and he smiled within himself.

"Well miss lily I'm happy to inform you that you have gotten the job." lily smiled widely

"But from what i can see here it seems your work here is temporary" Lily fell downcast but struggled to force a smile.

"Hope you are okay with it?"

"Yes sir"

"you are to take over as the CEO secretary"

"You will be notified of your duties"

"You will begin tomorrow" and she nodded as she stood up to leave.

"And one more thing" and she paused and looked at him

"no funny business" he said as he turned back to his files. She stood there still confused about what he said he looked up to her seeing how confused she was

"haha i was just joking"

"Let me show you your office" he said trying to change the atmosphere that had become tense. He walked to the door as he opened it

"Ladies first" and lily walked by shyly and he shut the door behind him. This time they didn't use the elevator but the stairs by the third floor was her office. It was large and nicely decorated. Lily smiled within herself

"hope you love it?" she nodded as she admired the office

"Why don't i take you out for lunch its been a busy day?" he asked politely

She turned still confused at how this man was acting right now and she nodded and he led her out. once they reached the ground floor he went over to the counter and whispered something to the lady over there. Lily didnt mind straining her ear to hear what they were talking about besides she flat comfortable around Mr liam only when he was not in the office. After their talk liam walked over to her and smiled as he handed her the key to her office.

They both walked out of the building and he drove her out to a restaurant.

He made the order for them both and lily didn't object she just sat quietly as she ate her lobsters.

"So miss lily"

"are you married?"

lily almost choked "Am still young" she thought to herself

"No" she answered a little rude

"Why not?"

"I have alot to bother about right now so marriage is far off for now" the man nodded as he focused on his food. The two didn't talk to each other till they had finished. It was getting late so liam offered to drive lily home she obliged without hesitation. liam found it weird at how calm and obedient she was at first he thought she was all those girls who went over the city looking for men but looking at her he knew she wasn't like that

She was just like the sea calm and cool and he smiled within himself.
