Chapter 81

Jace didn't even get to thank Lorelei for the coffee since she just left after saying her piece.

He watched the girl's back as she ran away after giving him the cup of coffee. "Pffft," he chuckled, then looked at her thank you gift. "She shouldn't have acted so shy. It doesn't suit her at all," Jace murmured.

"I see you're all smiles because of a cup of coffee," he heard a voice behind him whisper at his ear. The hot breath of the speaker made him shiver.

Jace immediately backed away as he flinched. "What the hell, man! Why would you sneek behind like that?!" he grumbled while rubbing his ears. "Seriously, what's your problem?" Jace glared at him.

J.B.burst out laughing. "Oh come on! Why are you getting worked up all of a sudden?"

"I am not getting worked up, mind you," Jace retorted then cleared his throat. "What took you so long? Geez."

"But aren't you glad I arrived a little later?" J.B. gave him a sly grin.
