A Swine In The Village

Chapter 104: A Swine In The Village

There was a breach.

The witch village had been infiltrated.

Dark clouds filled with lightning could be seen in the far distance. Moving closer. Hovering over the houses of the witch village.

"I was beginning to wonder why reinforcement wasn't coming…" Bridget whispered, mentioning to herself, but everyone heard her all around her. September heard her. Junk and April did as well, but only barely.

"Looks like your little town is being invaded, Bridget. And it's not me who is knocking at the door," September said.

"Don't go anywhere, big sister. Wait right here until I am done with whatever this is. I am not done with any of you," Bridget grew madder than she ever had before. She was worried about whatever was happening to her village and her people. No matter how small the amount of people she had to protect, day after day, she couldn't allow anything to happen to them. She was on the move. She was in the process of leaving the group of three.

"Hold on. You really think I am going to be waiting here, doing nothing while you are checking up on your witches? Also, come on, you don't know what came to your town by now? Do you see these dark clouds filled with electricity right there in the sky? He is here. He came back to the village again. He is the one you should be after. Not me. I don't get it. Why do you think he is your ally?" September was referring to Lord Monsoon, the thunder swine beast. He was here. For a short moment, Bridget played the innocent card and hoped it wasn't him. Not him. Not now.

"It makes sense. He probably followed us here," it was much clearer to April now. Lord Monsoon probably found a way to chase her and Junk after they escaped him in the woods, at the foot of the mountain, but he was back now. He couldn't be stopped easily.

"I said It's time for us to bail. We have no reason to stay here any longer. We have to go now," the Minotaur never had any intention of staying in the witch village to begin with. He had been dying to leave this place ever since he began suspecting that something wasn't right about this place. Even more so when the revelation of this town being a coven came to be. Too many witches for him.

"Finally! We can agree with one another!" September said.

"No. We can't leave. We've got to help the coven. What are they going to do against Lord Monsoon if we don't help them? They don't stand a chance. They might be powerful witches, but Monsoon is unstoppable at this point. It would be as if we were sending them to the slaughterhouse," April desperately tried convincing September and Junk to stay here with her and to help support Bridget and the other members of the coven. Meanwhile, Bridget was already gone. Wasting no time, she rushed toward the danger, running toward the side of the village where dark, electrified clouds had begun to gather. She had to see what was going on in her secret town and to aid her witches. She disappeared down a different street. Circling around a couple of houses. Bridget was no longer in view. She was out of their hair.

"What are you talking about, April? We can't stay here. This place isn't for us. We have to escape while we still can," Junk argued.

"Staying here would be too dangerous for us. We can't defeat Lord Monsoon. Yet. We still have to collect more monster souls and to build our strength. There will be a time. But that time isn't now, unfortunately. Without forgetting to mention that this is actually perfect for us. The witch village is not our home. The coven is our enemy. Bridget is our enemy. All the members of the coven are our enemies. Make no mistake: They were still searching for us. Chasing us. This should help us a lot," September explained to her as she turned around and had her back facing the young, elvish girl.

"I can't believe what I am hearing. You dared to abandon us, again, back at camp, and now you are back and telling us what to do once more? Bullshit! Total, pure bullshit, Sep! You are the woman who you used me. You are no longer the friend you used to be for me. You've changed. The members of the coven might be our enemies for the time being, but that doesn't mean that we can't fix that at some point. It can still be done. You tend to forget a little too quickly that the witches in this village used to be your friends. They used to be your sisters. Your family. You used to be their Queen, and now, you are not even a little interested in helping them? Then, leave. You don't deserve to have me following you if you would even think about allowing this sort of disaster to happen in the first place. Go!" April swiftly spun around and left them. She Quickly walked back deeper into the village while September was about to leave. The Autumn witch stopped. The Minotaur was caught in the middle of the two women. He stood still. He turned his head back and forth. Looking in both directions. Confused.

"What just happened?" Junk asked himself as everything was falling apart all around him. The party wasn't the same it used to be.

"So, are you coming, Junk?" September was urging him to do so. She was fully expecting him to come with her. He hesitated. Meanwhile, April walked off the distance. She disappeared deep into the village. The Minotaur still didn't know what to do and who to go with at this point. He looked on both sides. Hesitating. Thinking…

"Junk?" September said his name once more.

***

Meanwhile, as April ran as fast as she could to the other side of the under attack witch village, she suddenly ran into a few of the witches. They were lying down on the ground in the streets of the village.

They were not moving.

They were still breathing, but only barely.

The witches had all been defeated.
