Vol. 2: Aiden to Haru - Chapter 28

Haru

We landed in Narita International Airport, Tokyo, without a hitch, and after going through customs and immigration, we gathered our luggage and headed out, taking the shuttle to our hotel right in the heart of Shinjuku, where we’d be staying for two days before taking a bullet train to Kyoto, where we’d spend another two days. After that, it’d be a domestic flight over to Sapporo in Hokkaido, where we’d then take a train to a remote little town called Aoi, where we’d stay with Uncle Jin for seven days. After that, we’d fly over to Jeju Island and then Seoul in South Korea, where we’d spend the remaining days exploring the cities and what they had to offer before heading back home.

“Seriously, why do I have to share a room with Noah and Connor?” Isaac muttered as we headed into the elevator after checking into the five-star hotel. “Haru, you wanna swap?”

I wondered if Isaac was going to complain nonstop about being around Connor during the whole trip. I thought the two got along, or was I wrong? But, of course, there was no way I’d swap a room with Isaac. I mean we were staying in a five-star hotel, and I wanted to stay in it with Aiden. I hadn’t yet had enough of Aiden, especially with us just hanging out and doing erotic stuff to each other like newlyweds. And I suspected Aiden felt the same, what with the way he had consistently touched and kissed me back on the plane, and especially during our stopover at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia.

I admit I liked it, very much so. It was amazing to be loved by the man you’re in love with, more so when that man showed you so much affection and adoration. I mean, fuck, was I lucky or what?

I shook my head as the door of the elevator shut. “No, thanks. Ask Mason or Reo.”

Reo said, as he pushed on the twentieth-floor button, “No way you’re swapping with Mason or me, you little rascal. You make silly noises in your sleep.”

Connor asked, sounding intrigued, “Is that so?”

Isaac said in a defensive voice, “That’s a lie. I do not make silly noises. Isn’t that right, Haru?”

Why the hell did he bring me into this?

Noah said, “Yeah, you do.” He turned to Connor. “It’s best you get yourself a pair of earplugs if you don’t want a sleepless night. I already packed myself a pair, knowing I’m going to share a room with such a noisy sleeper.”

Connor laughed while Isaac’s cheeks turned red. He snapped at Noah, “Oy! Stop airing my dirty laundry in public.”

He admitted it, after all. I thought he was going to keep denying that he talked in his sleep until the end, at least of this conversation.

Connor said, “Hmm. Maybe I should record the so-called funny noises when you’re asleep, Isaac? Or better yet, record a video of you?”

Isaac said bluntly, “Permission denied. I swear if you were to really record me sleep, be it video or audio, I will prosecute you, Connor.”

Connor chuckled. “What are you? A judge?”

Noah said, “He’s not a judge. Doesn’t have the brains for one. The best he can do is art, and how are you going to live on art after you graduate?”

Isaac said, “Hey, don’t make fun of art students, okay? And don’t worry, I won’t come begging you for charity if I can’t find a job.” He turned to Aiden. “I’ll come to Aiden. If Aiden kicks me out, then I’ll turn to Mason or Haru.”

At this, everyone in the small space of the elevator laughed. Typical of Isaac, always running back to his bros for aid when times got tough.

Of course, Noah, despite his words, which to outsiders sounded cold and harsh, was a kind and caring older bro at heart, especially toward Isaac and me, because he knew we were clueless when it came to surviving on our own. You could say Noah was kind of distant and cold on the outside but warm and toasty on the inside. I knew in my gut he’d never abandon us, his brothers, or his friends for that matter.

Connor said, “You can always come to me if you’re in a tough spot, Isaac. I’ll only be too happy to help, though there’ll be compensation.”

Isaac waved Connor’s offer aside. “No, thanks. That compensation you’re looking for is probably to bully me endlessly. Like I’d want that.”

Noah said, “You’re just an ungrateful little brat, Isaac. Who’d want to help you?”

Isaac pulled a face at Noah.

When the door dinged a moment later, indicating we had arrived on our floor, the conversation ended, and we headed toward our respective rooms. Aiden’s and mine was at the far end of the hall, while Reo and Mason’s was next to ours, followed by Noah, Connor, and Isaac’s.

Isaac was making a big fuss before submitting to fate and entering the room, with the aid of Noah roughly dragging him in, naturally.

I said to Aiden as we entered our own room, “Isaac seems more excited than usual.”

Aiden chuckled. “Excited? When he’s been complaining nonstop since we left the apartment back in New York?”

I scratched my head. “Yeah, he complains a lot but his energy seems high, like I mean more than the usual, if you know what I mean.”

Isaac was always so energetic, after all, since he had been a kid, unlike me.

Aiden shut the door behind him and then inserted the card into the key lock, which switched on the room’s power. The light, air ventilation, and heating came on automatically.

I eyed the room in awe. Wow! It was nice and super opulent. There was a king-sized bed, perfectly made, along with bedside tables on either side. At the foot of the bed was a sitting area, where a luxurious sofa and armchairs formed an arc around a coffee table in the middle.

After setting the luggage down, Aiden headed over to the other side of the room and drew back the curtains, allowing the afternoon light in, brightening the place up even more.

I put my luggage next to Aiden’s and then came over to stand beside him. “Wow! There’s Tokyo Tower. The view is amazing.”

Aiden wrapped his arms around me and planted a kiss on my forehead. “It is a nice view. Let’s enjoy it.”

I turned my gaze to him and, with a grin on my face, nodded. “Yeah.”

Aiden moved back and then said, “I need a shower.”

“Me, too. But you go first.”

Aiden nodded and then went to his luggage and took out what he needed. Just as he disappeared into the bathroom, there was furious knocking at the door.

“Haru?” It was Isaac’s voice.

I sighed. “What now?” I muttered under my breath as I headed to the door.

“Haru? Can you hear me? Haru?” Isaac called out insistently.

I opened the door and said, “Don’t be so loud. You’re disturbing other people.”

Isaac came barging into the room, his eyes large as he scanned the place. “Whoa! Yours is awesome. A king-sized bed! Ours has three single beds.”

“Yeah, but I’m sharing it with Aiden,” I said. “And we’re not swapping.”

Isaac hopped on the bed and started rolling around like a kid, chuckling as if he was having the time of his life. He said, “Yeah. Yeah. I’m not going to steal your porny time with Aiden.”

“Porny time?” I asked.

Isaac chuckled again. “Yep, porny time.” He looked at me, his eyes twinkling. “So I’m not being nosy or anything, but are you a neko?”

Not being nosy? When he was asking me that type of question?
