Equinox

"And now, I welcome the Lords and Ladies, to the 1243rd Autumn Equinox session of the Wizengamot!" The head speaker closed the admission, and all seats were taken promptly.

Eren was in his designated seat, and below him was Misa, on one of the five Dumbledore seats.

The Wizengamot had a complex sitting arrangement.

There were two sets of seats in the chamber. 

The lower seats were in an arc, surrounding the stage centre of the Hall. There the lower and closer the seats were to the stage, the more important they were on the political stage.

The frontmost seats were of Order of Merlin receipts, they were temporary members of Wizengamot and often glorified Wizards and Witches of their time. 

Their vote counted for two votes, for the First class receipts, while Second and Third class receipts had one vote counted as one only. However, they were only allowed to hold one seat for witnesses among them.

The next were the Ancient and Most Noble houses, their history and wealth made them sound almost synonymous and closest to what one might call Wizarding Royalty.

This included the Ancient and Most Noble houses of Potter, Black, Ollivanders, Prewetts, the Hogwarts Founders, Emyrs, Strange, Constatine and Roronoas

Most, if not all of these houses were extinct. Only the Potter, Black and Ollivanders still had the bare minimum for legacy continuation—only an heir, not even a spare.

Their vote counted as three, holding the most power. Other houses tended to follow their lead on most things in the Wizengamot, but due to the extinction, not the Wizengamot was having new factions emerge amidst itself. An Ancient and Most Noble house had ten seats for itself, where the Lord could bring their heir or anyone to accompany them in the Wizengamot.

Unlike receipts of the Order of Merlin, the Lords and Ladies of Ancient and Most Noble Houses had to pay House dues of 150,000 galleons to the ministry annually while they had an active Lord.

The next Lords and Ladies were that of Ancient and Noble houses. The Sacred Twenty eight beside the Ancient and Most Noble houses were included in this category. Their vote constituted for one vote equals two counting votes. And they also had ten seats to themselves in the Wizengamot.

Behind them were the Noble houses, with little or no history. They held the same amount of votes as their preceding Lords did, One vote equals two counting votes, but only had five seats for themselves, and it mattered in the political ground.

The Lord and Ladies' arc was aimed in such a way that they could face the center stage and the platform in the front their the Ministry officials sat.

The Platform had the centermost position for the Chief Warlock, who presided over the meetings of the Wizengamot. Beside him were the seats of the Minister of Magic and an empty seat where the head of the particular Ministry sat for which the Wizengamot was called.

For example, if the Wizengamot had gathered for a trial, the head of the DMLE sat there.

Below the platform were the seats for fifteen scribes, one seat for the Undersecretary for Minister of Magic and seats for foreign delegates and guests of the nation.

"Are you sure about this?" Eren asked Misa.

"If you fear what I think you fear, and the most likely fear there is, then yes, this is the only way."

"I thought we had to take an active stance on this."

"Sometimes the radical choice is the peaceful route. You must remember, you are not here to attack but to counterattack."

"All rise" The scribe announces the Chief Warlock and the Minister of Magic.

"I declare this to be the beginning of the Autumn Equinox session of the 1243rd Wizengamot, so mote it be!"

"You may declare any seats to be filled today!" The scribe announced.

Before each of the four main sessions of Wizengamot, namely the Summer Solstice, the Autumnal Equinox, the Winter Solstice and the end of the term, the Vernal Equinox, the new regency and Lordships had to be announced in the Wizengamot.

Eren stood up unsurprisingly and came down to the stage of the Wizengamot.

"I will be announcing that the mantle of Dumbledore Lordship has been taken by me." Chief Warlock gave a stare with his twinkling eyes but said nothing, not that he needed to when he had a spokesperson for himself.

"Albus Dumbledore should be Lord Dumbledore! He was the elder brother of Late Lord Aberforth!" Eren looked to his left to see who spoke, but could not note who it was even after all the teachings from Misapiona. He looked back at her, who was nodding at him, giving him free rein in the Wizengamot.

"I am not here asking for your permission. I am declaring that I have taken the Lordship." The elder man huffed. The Dumbledore Lord seat beamed in light, showing its acceptance to the new Lord.

"You have no manners-this young generation."

"Neither do you, random person." This elder Lord reddened in anger.

"We welcome Lord Dumbledore to the Wizengamot" Lord Malfoy stood at his seat to show support to the newly appointed Lord. This garnered a lot of surprising gazes from the Dark and varying looks from the Light faction.

"Welcome, Lord Dumbledore, you may take your seat." The Minister of Magic said.

"I will be also announcing myself as the regent of the seats of House Potter, Black and Slytherin." The seats corresponding to the names lit up to show their acceptance to Eren's regency.

There was drop silence in the normally sound Hall. One could not just waltz there and claim three of the most important seats in the Wizengamot. 

"What?" Malfoy's cold and calm demeanour faded away. He had digested the regency of Potter, Dumbledore should have had some machinations of his own in that matter, but Black? and SLYTHERIN!?

His ex-Lord was heir Slytherin!? How could the seats accept this new upstart for the regent!? Does that mean Vol-You-Know-Who was still alive somewhere? 

Malfoy had been a supporter of Voldemort in the Wizarding War, but it was not given willingly by Lucius. He had been but a child when he was branded with the Dark Mark on the orders of his father Abraxas. He had not wanted to touch a volatile movement of blood purity by a stick if he had been given the reign, but he was not given much of a choice.

The revelation that Dark times were once again in their future was not something he wanted to accept.

"HOW COULD THIS-"

"SILENCE!" The Chief Warlock rages, and the Wizengamot peaces out at the shout of one Albus Dumbledore.

"May Lord Dumbledore-" The Chief Warlock gave importance to the Lord part"-might explain how the regency is put in place?" He asked.

"That is not something I am willing to divulge Chief Warlock."

Eren and Dumbledore fought a staring battle, but the Chief Warlock pulled himself back, knowing this was not something he could ask. But there were bigger problems for him now.

"Heir Potter is currently at Hogwarts. The only way you could have Potter regency is through Lord Potter's permission, which is understandable for your Boy-who-lived being the only scion of Potters." Lucius started, addressing the Minister and the Chief Warlock "What I do not understand is how only the legal guardian of a Lord could pull off regency in the legal sense." He turns to Eren.

"How could Lord Dumbledore be the legal guardian of Lord Potter, the boy who lived? A war hero?"

Eren looked above to meet Lord Malfoy's gaze.

"I am not the guardian of young Harry Potter." He pointed his finger above "He is"
