252 A thousand years cold

Nick merely sighed at this since Celebrimbor merely needed to ask if this was all he wanted rather than try and make a big fuss about it. Choosing to ignore the smug looking elf Nick turned his attention to the outer part of his mindscape just behind his first set of defenses and slowly began to manifest one bird after another. This was an incredibly time consuming process as he needed to "program" these birds to fly around the area infinitely with the goal of stopping anything from getting through them. He went so far as to make each and every member of a particular species extremely detailed including nature flight and hunting behaviors.-

He then created billions of each of these things before having them scatter and join the other species he was creating. In the end he was left with a mini ecosystem of just birds that had the smaller ones getting hunted by the bigger ones. He then set a "reproduction" mechanism that caused each bird to split into two birds every day. This meant that the longer the second layer was active the more and more dangerous to outsiders it would become.-

With that done Nick finally left his mindscape only to twitch his face a bit as there was three ghost in his workshop that had not been invited. A obese man in monk robes , sir Nicolas de mimsy Porpington and the bloody baron. Obviously these were the only ghosts that regularly haunted Hogwarts and each represented a single house each. They were all arguing with each other about who should get the next ring Nick made to give ghosts a corporeal body. Nick knew that while in his mindscape he was disconnected from reality and vulnerable but it seems like he needed to set up a ward against ghosts now.-

The three ghosts clearly noticed that Nick had opened his eyes but the fat friar and bloody baron ignored him to continue arguing. Nearly headless Nick however immediately dropped out of the argument to speak with him. "Nick my boy! Why have you never mentioned that you were working on resurrecting ghosts?" he asked with an offended look. Nick chuckled "It never came up in conversation , besides she hasn't been resurrected but merely placed in a state close to it. Like poltergeist in a way." he explained honestly.-

"Is that so? I won't argue with you on this as you clearly outmatch myself in this department but surely you must understand how one would assume she had been resurrected." The kind ghost said seriously. Nick nodded " I am aware of this but fact remains that she has not. But enough about that. What's this whole argument about who is getting the next ring? Last I checked that choice belongs solely in my hands with the exception of you specifically." Nick said pointing at the bloody baron who looked confused. "You won't deny me this chance because of what I did before I died are you?" the bloody ghost asked with a worried expression.-

Nick shook his head "You didn't hear me apparently , I said that the choice was my except in your case. For you the one you have to convince is not me but her." Nick said pointing at Helena who was painting off to the side. The bloody baron looked mortified by the idea and looked at Nick beggingly but he got a cold glare in return. The ghost looked at Helena conflicted before floating over to her to try and make his case.-

"Revenge is hers after a thousand years it seems. I will not mock him for the irony of the situation but his chances are truly dreadful." the fat friar said with a sigh. "Now that that's taken care of back to the matter at hand , I take it Helena has briefed you both on exactly what getting one of these rings from me means?" Nick asked seriously and both ghosts nodded with stern expressions. "Do know that the rings will stop working and fall off of you should any sort of betrayal towards me happen. That said I will provide both of you a ring soon as I don't have any extra's just laying about." Nick said and they both looked disappointed.-

"What I do have is the ring Helena used before her current one that gives her a corporeal body but no magic. You will need to share while I prepare the individual rings but I doubt that will bother either of you all that much." he added and took out the original Nazfea ring from Greed. It was funny to watch the two ghosts haggle out the exact timeline for who gets to wear it and for how long before settling the matter with rock paper scissors.
