RYAN AND LILY

[2 days later]

Ryan opened his eyes and found himself in a new room. He rubbed his eyes as he sat up on the bed.

"Finally awake?" A familiar voice called Ryan as Lily entered the room carrying a tray full of food. She was wearing her usual Hogwarts dress, nothing new.

"...where am I?" Ryan looked around the room.

It was a small bedroom with simple wooden furniture. There was a table and chair beside the bed, and there was a large window overlooking a garden outside. Sunlight was streaming through the curtains, and birds were chirping happily. On the walls were those talking portraits that Ryan had seen before.

Lily placed the tray on the bedside table. "Hogwarts," She answered Ryan's question before sitting beside him.

"Hogwarts? Then, those Death Eaters...?" Ryan rubbed his temple as memories flashed before him.

Lily shook her head. She sighed deeply before saying, "Rodolphus died yesterday evening... As for Bellatrix, the ministry interfered before we could interrogate her. Now she is kept somewhere in the Ministry of Magic under heavy surveillance."

"Figures. Those political bastards... Anyway, how long was I out?" He asked Lily.

"For two days..." Lily replied softly as she looked at Ryan worriedly, "Are you okay?"

"Yup. Just a bit hungry and exhausted. By the way, you look awfully worried about someone you barely know... Why? Back at Hogsmeade, you were blushing too. So... it makes me wonder, why?" Ryan smirked teasingly as he took the plate from the desk and took a spoonful of soup.

Lily blushed slightly and averted her face before muttering, "N..no reason... Just that..." She paused and took a deep breath before continuing, "It's just that... I... It's... You really want to know the truth?" She stuttered a bit before blurting out suddenly, surprising Ryan.

"Out with it, Miss. Evans. I know you are in a relationship with James. So, what's the deal?" Ryan raised one of his brows curiously.

"Huh?!" She widened her eyes hearing Ryan.

"What's that reaction?" He narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

Lily calmed herself down and explained everything to Ryan. After listening to her, Ryan was speechless.

"You mean to say that you two aren't dating or anything like that? What about Snape? Are you perhaps...?" Ryan's voice trailed off as he tried to connect the dots together.

"What? No! Where the heck did you get such a crazy idea?!" Lily denied him immediately. "I mean, we are just good friends, nothing more."

"So, none of you are dating each other?" Ryan asked again just to make sure he got things straight.

Lily nodded, "Yes, we are not dating anyone."

'What the actual fuck is going on? Lily and James were supposed to be a couple by now. Instead, this! If they don't get together, then Harry won't be born and my plan to steal his body will fall apart. Could it be because of me? Did my existence and interference with the events cause a butterfly effect or something similar to that? Fuck me! Who would've thought interfering would make things worse than before? Fuck!! What the hell do I do now?... Damn it. Even I have no idea about the current situation. My knowledge about the characters of this world is useless now because things aren't going according to the book,' Ryan thought as he tried to plan his next move.

"Hey!" Ryan got startled by Lily's sudden call.

"Hmmm?" Ryan tried his best not to show his worries in front of Lily. "Forget what I said. So, coming back to the topic, yeah, I want to know the reason behind your behavior around me. Yeah, I can take a hint, but it's better to hear it from you, directly."

'Why did things take an unexpected turn?' Questions swirled inside his mind.

"Well, about that... I mean, I may be too straightforward for this. It's just a thought but, I thought you are interesting and unique. You had a strong aura around you and I don't know why, but whenever I look at your eyes, I get drawn in somehow. So, I was really intrigued by you. It's just, you know, I felt a tingle in my heart at the fight sight," She admitted as her cheeks turned a faint shade of pink. "And you know... You saved our lives by putting yourself in danger. If not for you..." Her voice trailed off.

'What the fuck are you saying, girl? Don't go spoiling my plan. As much as I'd have liked to have you as my girl, that ain't gonna happen, ever. So, stop right there, girlie," He thought. "Anyways, as much as I'd have loved to flirt around with the cute flower maiden over here, I'm not the good person, that you think I am, and also, I'm not a person who... How to say it? Yeah, my dream is to create a big harem and live peacefully with my girls," He dropped a bombshell after sipping some water from a jug kept on the nightstand beside the bed.

'Yeah, this is better. Just get angry and storm off.' He thought.

"Huh... Wh...at..." She gasped and widened her eyes in surprise upon hearing him.

'Just stay angry at me, and all will be good.'

But after a few seconds, Lily sighed with a relieved expression and then let out a heartfelt laugh. She was laughing for a minute before stopping and looking at Ryan.

"You are joking, right?" She tilted her head in question.

"Nope, I was completely serious. I'm a believer of Polygamy and I want to live a free life without being restricted by a single relationship. You are a good girl and a smart one too. Any other guy would jump at the opportunity and start a serious relationship with you. And I won't lie and say that I'm not interested in you. But seriously, it's my life goal. That is, to build a harem of beautiful girls, which was why I refused to accept your feelings. You deserve better than someone who would never give his full attention. So..." Ryan replied, his words hitting her right where it hurt.

Lily stopped him before asking seriously, "Are you one of those pure blood?"

"Why do you ask?" Her question threw him off guard.

"Cause mainly the pure bloodline wizards believe in polygamy and harems as it has been the common practice of the pureblood nobles," Lily told him. "Is it the reason?"

Ryan shrugged his shoulders. "No, it's my personal wish," He answered.

"Huh! Okay," Lily nodded and gave a smile. "You know, it's fine to have personal dreams, and I can respect that too. Besides, it's a common practice..." She stood up with a smile as Ryan finished his meal.

'Fuck! Why the heck are you smiling? I know it's nothing new. But still, just forget about me. Wait! I should use Obliviate on her, and make her forget me and then disappear. Maybe then... Seesh. What kind of mess did I get myself into?' He let out a sigh as his head ached.

"I'll let the Professor know that you are awake. So, take some rest," She placed the empty utensils back on the tray.
