43 Chapter 43: Troll and Emergency Rescue

Although Orianna was a puppet, being carried in the arms of girl still made Alaric feel awkward.

In this uncomfortable situation, he squirmed uneasily, protesting to Orianna, but she ignored him—truth be told, Orianna, who was always kept in her father's pocket, had long wanted to try this, and she did it on purpose.

Who would have thought that the once innocent Orianna would turn out like this?

This was what they called "Fanservice," right?

After entering the third floor, Alaric immediately smelled a pungent odor—a mixture of sweaty socks and an uncleaned public restroom.

Then he heard it—a low grumbling sound and the heavy footsteps of a giant dragging on the floor.

At the end of a passage on the left, a massive creature was moving towards him.

Alaric quickly broke free from Orianna's embrace, cast a shrinking spell on her, and then put her back into his pocket but she

l seemed a bit reluctant.

What appeared before Alaric's eyes was a monster he had never seen before. It stood twelve feet tall, with dull, granite-like gray skin covering its massive and clumsy body.

It resembled a pile of giant gravel with a small cocoa bean-like head on top. Its short legs were as thick as tree trunks, ending in flat, calloused feet.

The stench emanating from it was nauseating. It clutched a large wooden club in its hand, dragging it along the ground due to its long arms.

This was a troll, a magical creature with incredible strength but remarkably low intelligence. They shared the same name as the trolls in the World of Warcraft, but they clearly differed in intelligence.

The troll stopped at a doorway and peered inside. It swung its long ears, made a decision with its small head, then lowered it and slowly entered the room.

Soon, Alaric heard a sound that almost stopped his heart—a wailing, terrified scream—coming from that room.

It was Hermione, hiding in the girls' restroom.

Alaric didn't hesitate and drew his wand, rushing over.

Hermione cowered against the opposite wall, reciting the Levitation Charm with a trembling voice. A thick book was thrown at the troll's head, but the weak attack had no effect on the thick-skinned creature.

The troll was advancing towards her, slowly moving forward, its powerful muscles shattering porcelain sinks along the way.

"Am I going to die?" Realizing her spell had no effect on the creature, Hermione turned pale in fear. She closed her eyes, waiting for death.

In the moment of facing death, the first person to appear in her mind wasn't her parents or the professors at Hogwarts; it was that boy—the handsome boy who sacrificed himself to save her when she fell from the broom.

"Save me—Alaric—" she shouted desperately in her heart.

Even without using Felix Felicis, her wish was immediately granted.

"Stop!" Alaric shouted at the troll and chanted the incantation.

An invisible sharp blade cut through the air, silently flying towards the troll's back. In an instant, a one-meter-long wound appeared on the troll's back, blood splattering and flowing profusely.

The sudden intense pain made the troll roar loudly. It swung its huge club wildly, smashing the entire restroom into pieces.

Finally, the low-intelligence monster turned around, discovering the culprit.

With a furious roar, the troll swung the club towards Alaric, leaving a trail of blood behind.

At this moment, Hermione, who had lost all hope, also noticed the change in the situation. The boy's incantation and the troll's strange behavior made her realize that someone was saving her, diverting the troll's attention.

She watched closely. Standing at the restroom entrance was the boy she had longed for.

"Be careful!" Seeing the troll approaching Alaric, she anxiously shouted.

After looking around, she frantically picked up the debris and threw stones at the troll, attempting to divert its attention, regardless of whether she could handle the monster herself.

However, the damage Alaric caused to the troll was so severe that Hermione's harassment had little effect.

The troll lifted the huge club high and slammed it down towards Alaric.

However, in the face of this powerful blow, Alaric remained calm. Ignoring the rushing wind, he calmly used a Shield Charm.

"Protego!"

With a resounding "thud," the troll's full-force strike seemed to hit an invisible wall. The air trembled violently twice, but the formidable wooden club stopped three centimeters above Alaric's head, unable to move any further.

Indeed, due to the troll's powerful magical resistance, Alaric's spells had little effect on it, like "Disarming Charm" and "Stunning Spell," which had much less effect on trolls.

However, spells that indirectly affected the troll through physical effects, such as "Severing Charm" and "Shield Charm," still had some effect.

Especially when used by someone with Alaric's immense magical power, the troll did suffer significant damage.

Seizing this opportunity, Alaric agilely circled around the troll, coming to its back. Then, he used an Exploding Charm to hit the sink.

"Bombarda"

In an instant, the sinks were blown to pieces, water pipes burst open, and the rushing water drenched the troll thoroughly.

Shaking off the drenched water, the troll turned around, intending to retaliate against its opponent.

Holding his breath and concentrating, Alaric focused all his attention. He cast a Freezing Spell with all his might

"Glacius".

Since it was a spell cast by him at full power, the effect was so great that it seemed to transform the ordinary into the miraculous.

The water on the troll's body quickly turned into ice in a few seconds. The troll's movements stiffened instantly—it was frozen, completely immobile.
