27 Chapter 27: Hospitalization and Penelope

Alaric and Hermione fell into the forest together, and Professor Hooch and the young wizards crowded around, creating a chaotic scene.

Hermione was the first to be helped up. Her long, curly hair was a mess, covered in wood debris. Her face was pale, but she wasn't injured—Alaric, who was taller than her, had shielded her well.

Her roommates Lisa Turpin and Parvati Patil rushed forward and hugged her, offering comforting words.

However, compared to Hermione, Alaric had a much worse situation.

In order to protect Hermione, he had borne the brunt of the damage, whether crashing into the treetops or hitting the ground. The current Alaric was beyond just being described as disheveled.

Blood, seeping through his messy black hair, ran down his face. His exposed skin was covered in wounds and scratches, and his hands were completely powerless. The skin beneath his clothes was bruised.

In fact, the current state of Alaric was far from simple. He hadn't suffered a major fracture or excessive bleeding, purely accidental.

Madam Malkin had crafted a cloak and school uniform for him using the best materials, expressing her gratitude for his design.

The quality was top-notch and enchanted. In the accident, this set of clothing effectively protected him, combined with his superhuman physique, preventing him from breaking his neck.

Seeing Alaric's miserable state, before Terry and his other roommates could react, the girls around him nervously rushed forward.

Regardless of their familiarity with Alaric, they all looked devastated, tense as they helped Alaric up and supported him toward the infirmary.

"I'm so envious." Michael watched the retreating crowd and couldn't help but question life.

Why couldn't he have such attention from girls?

Anthony nodded in agreement. "Turns out, being handsome allows you to do anything..."

Next to them, Hermione finally regained her senses. She struggled to run toward Alaric's direction, managing to squeeze through the crowd to get to his side.

Seeing his wretched state, Hermione exclaimed, "Oh!" and burst into tears.

"It's all your fault! You've made him like this!" A Hufflepuff girl nearby accused her.

"Guilty as charged!" A Ravenclaw girl chimed in.

Hermione instantly became the target of everyone's blame. The girls turned their grief over Alaric's injuries into anger towards Hermione. They took turns accusing her.

Amidst the anger, jealousy played a bigger role. The girls turned their sorrow over Alaric's injuries into resentment towards Hermione because he had been rescued by their heartthrob. They expressed their feelings through a barrage of accusations.

But this time, the usually strong-willed Hermione didn't fight back. She staggered along with the group escorting Alaric, displaying an attitude of extreme guilt, accepting all the hits and accusations.

As for the boys, they were left standing there, looking at each other.

Deep envy filled the hearts of everyone.

The first flying class for Alaric concluded hastily.

...

After class, a piece of significant news quickly swept through Hogwarts.

The heartthrob of the Ravenclaw first-year boys, Alaric, had actually been injured during flying class!

This news caused a sensation in Hogwarts.

The last person injured in a flying class was Neville Longbottom from Gryffindor, although it happened just a day ago, it didn't create the same uproar.

The door to the infirmary was quickly filled with girls coming to visit Alaric.

Madam Pomfrey repeatedly drove them away, but the girls were relentless, with a constant stream of girls wanting to see him.

The boys, on the other hand, were caught in a vortex of envy and self-denial. This incident truly revealed the charm of the "heartthrob." No one expected Alaric's popularity among girls to be so high, and because of his selfless act of saving someone, his popularity was still rising.

In comparison, the other boys seemed completely unattractive, leaving them deeply wounded.

Looking at it this way, after Alaric was discharged, he would undoubtedly become the public enemy of the boys.

...

When Alaric woke up, it was already the next morning.

He raised his head and saw Hermione leaning on the bedside.

The young girl hadn't woken up yet, with red and swollen eyes, evident tear stains near her eyes. It was clear she had cried for a long time last night, and her breath sounded a bit heavier than usual.

Next to her, curled up, was Himari, while Oriana was in a dancing pose, standing on the bedside table without moving, pretending to be a real toy.

Hearing his movement as he woke up, an elegant girl appeared at his bedside.

She was Penelope Clearwater, the Ravenclaw prefect.

She held a basket in her hand and calmly approached the bed. From the basket, she took out a jug of milk, a sandwich, a portion of fries, a stack of fried eggs, and a stack of fried fish.

"All your usual breakfast items. I remembered, so I picked them for you. Check if they suit your taste."

Facing Alaric's surprised gaze, she responded, "You were unconscious all night, and you haven't eaten anything. I was afraid you'd be hungry. Also, the fish is for your little cat."

She not only remembered his eating habits but also remembered to feed his cat.

Even in the previous life, Alaric had never encountered a girl who cared about him and understood him like this.

At that moment, Alaric was truly moved by her gentle smile.
