Harry Potter: Journey to Godhood

Main World: Harry Potter Second World: Game of Thrones Third World: ..... Follow Alaric in his journey to be the strongest wizard out there by hook or by crook. This is the story of a guy who went to a different world to get power and to find new relationships in his life. Read how he fights off Voldemort in process becoming the leader of new generation of wizards and builds up his new life with his new friends, family and wife. A story of a wizard using his wisdom and power to ascend to the pinnacle of the world, who will do anything to protect his new family. This is a little slow paced and also somewhat slice of life story so keep that in mind, that focuses more on Alaric's relationship. There will be heavy changes to the original plot so be aware and also MC becomes overpowered rather quickly as the story moves forward and he won't hesitate to take some drastic measures if necessary, so he won't have a moral compass. Chapter 173: Melisandre In Cult

When Melisandre approached the giant stone, she was truly amazed.

She was certain that the red sword burning with golden flames in front of her could not be man-made.

Melisandre considered herself one of the top sorcerers in the entire continent of Essos.

At least in the rituals of R'hllor, no one was better at wielding the power of magic than her.

And in the city of Asshai, bathed in magic, where there were more sorcerers than anywhere else in the world.

And R'hllor was the largest faith on the continent of Essos, second only to the Faith of the Seven, Melisandre could be considered standing at the pinnacle of magical power.

Even with her power, she couldn't discern the principles of this sword, nor could she create a replica with its capabilities.

Doesn't this prove that this sword is the creation of a god?

This sword is none other than the legendary Lightbringer of Azor Ahai, and the prophecy is about to come true—the reincarnation of Azor Ahai is about to descend.

She was determined to witness this scene and assist the reincarnation of Azor Ahai in fulfilling his mission.

So, she knelt down before the giant stone and silently recited her prayers.

Suddenly, she felt herself surrounded by darkness.

Although it was broad daylight, the sun still shone brightly overhead, but in her eyes, all brightness vanished, leaving only the sword on the giant stone glowing brightly.

Immediately, she became alert, standing up and vigilantly scanning her surroundings.

The darkness was profound and eerie, as if strange creatures could emerge from it at any moment and devour her.

Suddenly, she sternly exclaimed, "Who is it?"

From the darkness emerged a young man, he was quite handsome with black hair and black eyes, dressed in elaborate attire she had never seen before.

He wore a faint smile on his face, but this smile exerted great pressure on her, as if a boulder was pressing on her heart.

However, as the young man approached, she felt a surge of excitement throughout her body, as if her magical power had suddenly grown stronger.

"Who are you?" she asked, restraining both the pressure in her heart and the physical attraction she felt.

As she uttered these words, she no longer felt like the revered priestess of R'hllor, but merely a small mortal, daring to question a great being.

"I am the Messiah, your light, your savior, who shall rescue the world from darkness.

I am the messenger of the gods, come to earth to select shepherds to tend to the lambs of the earth."

"In the beginning was nothing but Dragon God.

All things were made by him; and without him there was not anything that was made. In him was life; and life was the light of men.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

I am sent forth from the Dragon God, as a witness to the light, that all men through him might believe.

He was not that light, but was sent to bear witness of that light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world."

The gentle voice of the boy soothed Melisandre's soul like the morning light, making her feel as if any hostility towards him was sinful.

Melisandre felt herself almost succumbing to his words, but her years of belief in R'hllor spurred her to resist and argue.

"No... that's not right. R'hllor has not sent any messengers. You blasphemer, tell me! Who are you really?"

As she spoke, flames erupted from her palms, aimed at the boy in front of her, but at this moment, she completely lost her usual composure.

Melisandre believed that if a wizard appeared careless while casting spells, people would be more afraid of him.

Therefore, she always made various efforts to conceal what she did when casting spells, making herself appear more mysterious.

But now, in front of this boy, she couldn't care less.

However, in the face of her hostility, the boy remained calm, his expression still warm as he continued to recite.

"When the Dragon God returned to the world, the world which was made by him.

Yet the world did not recognize him. His messengers came to their own place, yet his own people did not receive them.

But to all who did receive him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believed in his name."

Then, he stared into Melisandre's eyes and said earnestly.

"Since the departure of the Dragon God, there has been no other god in the world.

All gods are incarnations of the Dragon God.

When the Dragon God returns, all incarnations shall return to the Dragon God, and all faith shall return to the Dragon God."

"I don't believe it!"

Melisandre shouted, trying to convince herself with a louder voice.

"R'hllor, the Lord of Light, is the only god. There has never been any Dragon God. Stop deceiving me!"

"You ignorant girl, do not let the incarnations of the gods blind your eyes.

Magic is the power bestowed upon the lambs by the gods. When the gods return, magic shall return as well."

Feeling the gradually strengthening magic within her, Melisandre actually began to believe it because the closer this "messenger of the gods" came to her, the more powerful she felt herself becoming.

Then, to her amazement, the messenger of the gods ignored the scorching flames and grasped the hilt of the Lightbringer with his hand, then drew it out.

How is this possible?

She herself dared not even touch this sword, so why could this divine messenger do it?

Could he really be a divine messenger?

Seeing Melisandre's confusion and astonishment, the boy smiled slightly and said.

"This sword is rightfully mine. I once wielded it in battle against the enemies of the gods, slaying demons and leading the heavenly army.

When the earth was plunged into darkness, I cast this sword down to the earth, to be wielded by the chosen one, to battle the demons of the earth and lead the flock of the gods.

Now that darkness has returned to the earth, I shall bestow this sword upon a new chosen one, so that they may fight the darkness, save the flock of the gods, and become the ruler of the earth."

With that, he gently waved the sword, and its light became even brighter, shining like a fallen sun on the ground, surrounded by scorching flames.

Yet, they could not harm the boy at all, as if he were the master of these flames.

Melisandre dared not look directly at the blazing light.

She knelt down involuntarily and muttered.

"I, Melisandre, the sinner, blind and ignorant, recognized only the incarnations of the gods but not the true gods.

From now on, I vow to believe in our true god and hope for his forgiveness of my sins..."

Seeing Melisandre like this, holding the Lightbringer, Alaric secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

He finally dealt with the first high priestess and it wasn't in vain to expend his resources to forge such a sword.

It seemed that the future archbishop of the Dragon God Cult and the absorption of the R'hllor faith were all set in stone.
